Today we’d like to introduce you to Rose Guererrd.
Rose, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As an only child, I spent endless hours in my room fixated on early 70’s AM radio and everything music. This led me to try to get my hands on all the music magazines that I could, many which I still have today, CREAM, HIT PARADER, ROCK SCENE, 16 and CIRCUS. Hours I would spend looking at the pics, hoping one day to be able to capture that same kind of images, showing the drama and intensity that only a live pic can deliver. I started with an 110 film cartridge KODAK point and shoot with the disposable rotary flash on top to many instant Polaroids to my beloved DSLR Canon 5d of today. My passion is shooting live shows but I also love to capture the candid moments of life and dramatic portraiture. I am grateful to have been able to shoot some of the music’s greatest artists and I am looking forward to what the future has in store for me. I am working hard to grow and hopefully my future will thank me.
Has it been a smooth road?
I have had some adversity along the way. Sometimes I feel that it is a male-dominated field, but if you believe in your own work and keep on plugging, you will find some open doors.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I am already seeing the big change in the industry with better camera quality in smartphones and point and shoot cameras. Maybe the big DSLR camera will go the way of film and end up being an antiquated process . I certainly hope not but if it does I will be happy in that category.
What has been the primary challenge you’ve faced?
I love photographing classic rock and roll, I am a child of the 70’s and 80’s. I know I need to diversify with different ages of music and styles to grow and stay relevant.
Let’s change gears – is there any advice you’d like to give?
My best advice is to keep shooting and then shoot some more! Listen to advice other photographers offer, watch plenty of videos and do something everyday to keep moving forward.

Rose is an amazing photographer. Not only does she shoot well known national acts but she is also a big part of the tribute band community. She shot many wonderful photos of my band Aeromyth Aerosmith Tribute and Pyromania Def Leppard Tribute. I would recommend her anytime!
