Meet Habib Sadeghi of The Clarity Cleanse in Agoura Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Habib Sadeghi.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Habib. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am the founder of Be Hive of Healing Integrative Medical Center in Agoura Hills, CA, where we specialize in osteopathic, environmental and psychosomatic adjunct therapies for chronic illness. I also hold a Master’s degree in spiritual psychology and act as a clinical instructor of family medicine at Western University of Health Sciences.

What’s the vibe of your practice? Who are the clients? What do they come for? What are you known to help?
The mood of my practice is empowerment with the message that mind and body work together to create health or disease. Patients are my partners in their healing process, which includes more participation than what you find in other medical settings. While this involves some work, it also helps patients regain a sense of control over their lives.

My patients come from all over the world and from all walks of life. They mostly come for chronic illnesses like cancer, auto-immune disease, and neurological conditions. I’ve seen success with all of these, and being a physician who is also a 20-year cancer survivor gives me a special perspective.

How did the idea for The Clarity Cleanse come about?
After being diagnosed with cancer as a medical student with no other option but radical surgery followed by chemotherapy and radiation, I started to explore how chronic emotional stress from past traumas was altering my biology to support disease. After my recovery, I began using the techniques I created for myself with my patients. The book is now a way to provide these interventions for people who cannot come to see me.

Anything interesting in the book proposal or selling it? SHALL WE NOTE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOOP & HOW THIS WAS A GOOP PRESS BOOK?
I’ve known Gwyneth Paltrow for years through various endeavors, including participating in the Stand Up 2 Cancer telethon. Through our association, I’ve written many articles on health and healing for goop. It is because of Gwyneth’s dedication to holistic healing that The Clarity Cleanse was published through goop press, for which I am very grateful.

Describe the book in one sentence.
An in-depth exploration of how unresolved emotional trauma creates a biological environment favorable to disease, and how healing emotionally helps the body respond better physically to treatment.

What has the reception been like?
The response to the book has been wonderful, as I think people intuitively know the mind and body are linked together in health, even if they don’t know how. I think it’s the drive to find the missing part of the treatment equation for all the serious chronic diseases that are still plaguing us generations after our great-grandparents died of them. When the book reached #2 on the Amazon.com bestseller list, I knew there was a real thirst for this knowledge.

What was a breakthrough moment for the book’s popularity?
I WOULD INCLUDE THE TODAY SHOW. Yes, it was after my appearance on The TODAY show with Megyn Kelly that the book really took off. As important as someone’s message might be, it still depends on how it’s disseminated as to whether it ends up changing people’s lives. In that respect, I am very lucky.

Why the clarity cleanse, and why now?
The title was chosen because healing requires clearing the mind of all the mental noise and preconceptions about health in order to create a space for new realizations and healing to enter. It’s time for a book like this because although diagnostic technology has advanced tremendously over the last 60 years, modern medicine has made little progress in actually curing the diseases we diagnose. There’s a missing element in the healing process, and that’s what The Clarity Cleanse is about.

Celeb fans?
Being located in the Los Angeles area, I have many patients involved at all levels of the entertainment industry, but for professional and personal reasons, I cannot discuss them.

What kind of feedback do you most often hear at events from people who have read the book?
They tell me how the concepts ring true for them, how they intuitively know that we live in a mind-body, and how just treating the physical body doesn’t bring full or lasting health. They express gratitude that they or a loved one have been given tools they can implement with their current treatment plan to begin addressing their healing in a more comprehensive way. They no longer feel like victims of their illness.

What are the main action takeaways?
The book contains a number of different exercises, but in a general sense, one thing people can do to prepare themselves for The Clarity Cleanse is to practice meditation, not simply as a relaxation technique but to prime the mind for the realizations that are to come. Ending the blame game is also essential for healing old emotional wounds. It doesn’t mean we excuse anyone else’s behavior; it simply means asking oneself, “What could it be inside of me that led me into this situation or allowed this person into my life? In what way could I have consciously or unconsciously contributed to this situation?” Taking full responsibility for your life is the only way to take back your power to change any part or all of it.

What’s next for you? Any sequels or follow ups in the works?
Right now, I’m working on a clarity process for couples that tailors The Clarity Cleanse principles specifically for intimate relationships. While it’s still in the development stage, I’m very excited about it.
