Hi Syuzanna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I did not arrive here by chance.

My story is shaped by resilience—by moments that tested my strength, challenged my confidence, and asked more of me than I ever thought I had to give. Along the way, I faced doubt from others and, at times, from within myself. I was told my dreams were too big, my vision unrealistic, and my light too bright for the spaces I occupied. Instead of shrinking, I learned to stand taller.

Every hardship became a lesson. Every setback became proof of my perseverance. When doors closed, I built my own. When my voice was questioned, I learned to trust it more deeply. I moved forward not without fear, but with courage—choosing growth when the path was uncertain and choosing belief when giving up would have been easier.

What sets me apart is not that my journey was easy, but that I never allowed adversity to define my limits. I protected my light fiercely, knowing it was meant not only to guide me forward, but to illuminate the way for others who would one day follow. My dreams were never too big—they were simply ahead of their time.

Today, I stand as a reflection of what is possible when determination meets purpose. I am proof that no one else gets to decide the size of my dreams or the strength of my voice. My journey is a reminder that hardship does not diminish potential—it refines it. And through it all, I continue to rise unapologetically, carrying my light exactly as it was always meant to shine. For this, I am deeply grateful to my husband and my son—my greatest supporters and the foundation behind everything I do.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to where I am today has been anything but smooth. I have faced countless challenges and moments of turbulence, yet my unwavering purpose—to help those who cannot help themselves—has remained the force that continues to guide me forward.

What were you like growing up?
If I had to describe myself in one word, it would be independent. From a very young age, my mother modeled independence with grace and strength, and I have always looked up to her. In many ways, I have strived to carry forward pieces of who she is, particularly in becoming the independent person I am today.
As a child, I was never afraid to speak my mind. I often stood alone, expressing my thoughts openly and confidently. That same courage and determination later evolved into a passion for advocacy, ultimately guiding me toward a career in social work—where I am able to give a voice to those who need support, understanding, and representation.
