Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaiden Randolph.
Hi Jaiden, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I always wanted to showcase my influence on the world, I feel like this brand ultimately helped me do that, while also finding a purpose in myself. Noticing that college students cannot afford quality pieces from brands, and I wanted to assist in any way I could. I started my brand with sacrifice. I hosted a thrift market at my Universities campus, (CSUN) and sold my own clothes with the purpose to start the brand. I worked day and night for years creating pieces that I feel resonated with my life experiences, with also combining my interests. Being in college and working three jobs. I realized that having these responsibilities, meant to sacrifice other aspects of life, such as relationships with family and friends. This realization lead me to mostly use my family and friends in modeling.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. Going to classes, having healthy family relationships, staying physically healthy, while also being able to pay rent and survive as a college student is rough. Having my business is another responsibility. But I am human, and I love the challenge my brand brings and all that comes with it.
As you know, we’re big fans of Retro Valley. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business was founded in January 2025 and it is very new. I am a CSUN student and I am going to receive my Bachelors in Marketing in May 2026. Balancing school and two other jobs, on top of having a social life and healthy relationships is a big challenge. Then throw a thriving business on top of that. My business is to show that anyone can do it, no matter the setbacks. I create a family atmosphere through making and creating clothes. All of my designs have special meaning and are all pieces are made with very high quality. What sets me apart from others is that I balance so many other extracurriculars, on top of being a high quality brand, giving my followers and customers hope that they can do anything. I am most proud of hitting 1 thousand real followers 3 months into the brand, and also achieving 450 customers the beginning of December. These two accolades show my hard work, confidence, sacrifice, dedication, and willingness to bet on myself. I want my readers to know that Retro Valley is more than just a streetwear brand. I accept home cooked meals as payment, and even paintings and other artwork in exchange for my goods. And all of those goods traded are showcased in my room. I am always doing hand deliveries to make my brand feel personable, and so you can know who exactly is selling to you. I am nice and care for my customers also.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was an only child and had no cousins growing up in Las Vegas. I was very creative and driven growing up. I began playing basketball when I was 4 years old being coached by my dad. He always instills being a team player, but always being confident and getting your own points. Throughout middle and high school I competed against 10 current or former NBA players and over 100 Division one basketball players. Playing at such a high level in Las Vegas, I always thought basketball would be my only thing I had. But getting to college and dealing with rejection from college coaches, I decided to shift my passion into starting a clothing brand. I fought through multiple injuries with basketball Outside of basketball I was very into legos and other creative activities. I was also very friendly, funny and social growing up without siblings. And I was very wise from hanging around adults my whole childhood. But bouncing back from adversity was always a big theme growing up, and I couldn’t thank my parents more for being there every step of the way.
