Exploring Life & Business with Haley Weidenbaum of Everhem

Today we’d like to introduce you to Haley Weidenbaum.

Haley, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Everhem began with a very real frustration. As an interior designer, I could never find window treatments that were both beautifully made and easy to buy. Everything felt overly complicated, overly expensive, or just not thoughtfully designed. This was a constant struggle as an interior designer, and I knew there had to be a better way.
I asked my husband, Adam, to start the company with me. I didn’t even have a name yet, but I knew he was the perfect partner. He was working as a graphic designer at the time, so he had the creative eye and branding instincts to build the identity of Everhem from scratch. He named the company, created the brand, and designed our first website. And because Adam started his career in finance, he naturally stepped into the financial and operational side as well. From the very beginning, we built Everhem together.
We founded the company as designers, and that has guided every decision since launching in 2019. We have always believed window treatments were the forgotten essential. We paired that philosophy with my passion for exceptional customer service. I truly believe that with honest communication, personal attention, and a product you stand behind, delighting customers becomes natural.
We partnered early on with workrooms that have been in the window treatment industry for decades. Their craftsmanship, combined with our design perspective, allowed us to create a curated, thoughtful offering. Over the years, we’ve continued to grow and refine the collection based on where interior design is heading. Everhem today is the result of craftsmanship, design, and a commitment to making custom window treatments feel warm and approachable.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has been rewarding and meaningful, but it has definitely not been smooth. In the beginning, Adam and I wore every hat. We were the designers, the customer service team, the operations department, the creative team, and everything in between. We built Everhem step by step, often without a clear roadmap, and learned to trust ourselves and figure things out as we went.
One of our biggest lessons came when we started hiring. We quickly realized that successful companies grow when founders let go and allow people to help their vision come true. Bringing on a team and watching them elevate the work beyond what we could do on our own has been both humbling and exciting. Learning when to step back and trust others has been essential.
On a personal level, being a mom to three young kids while building Everhem has been one of the most challenging and defining experiences of my life. Yes, being a founder gives you flexibility, but you are constantly pulled in two directions. It really does feel like you are raising your work baby and your actual babies at the same time.
I want our kids to grow up knowing that their parents started something from an idea and worked incredibly hard to bring it to life. I want them to see dedication, creativity, and resilience firsthand and to know that they can create something meaningful too.

We’ve been impressed with Everhem, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Everhem is a brand transforming how people access and experience custom window treatments. Founded in Los Angeles in 2019 by interior designer Haley Weidenbaum and her husband, Adam, Everhem was born from a simple realization: window treatments are one of the most transformative elements in a home, yet too often an afterthought, and too easy to do wrong.

With a curated collection of completely customizable Drapery, Hardware, Roman Shades, Roller Shades, Café Curtains, and Woven Woods — all handcrafted in the U.S. from premium, globally sourced materials — Everhem merges craftsmanship with an easy online ordering process to deliver a truly memorable, fail-proof experience. Every step, from measurement to installation, is guided by expert support, ensuring products are the right fit for your home. Everhem’s mission is to change the perception of window treatments from a finishing touch to a defining feature of every room in the home.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
As corny as it sounds, I really believe success is about happiness. I surprise myself all the time with how much I love what I do. It doesn’t feel like a job; it feels like the way things were meant to be. For me, success is finding that sense of peace and fulfillment in your professional life, where your work energizes you instead of drains you. If you can wake up excited about what you’re building and grateful for the people you get to build it with, then you’ve succeeded.
