Today we’d like to introduce you to Oksana Gladka.
Hi Oksana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story began more than 24 years ago, when I was still a schoolgirl in Ukraine. Even at a young age, I knew I wanted to build something of my own and work in the beauty field. I studied in a medical-focused high school, and later attended the University of Architecture and Design, combining my passion for art with my early interest in human anatomy and aesthetics.
Life shaped me quickly. I was born and raised in Sloviansk, Ukraine, and after losing my father and older brother, I grew up fast and felt responsible not only for myself, but also for my mother. Sports and art were my strongest foundations- I painted better than anyone in my class, and in university I went through five years of intensive fine art training. My grandfather was also an artist, and I spent countless hours watching him paint and mix colors.
Medicine and art were always inside me, and eventually I found a way to unite them in my profession. Today, I specialize in permanent makeup and paramedical tattooing. I began my career in Kyiv, continued to develop it in Moscow, and had the unique opportunity to attend medical forums in surgery and oncology. Those experiences inspired me to use my artistic skills to help people heal and to complement the work of surgeons. I began collaborating with doctors, working with post-mastectomy areola restoration and various types of scar camouflage.
I also built and managed a successful beauty salon offering multiple services. After moving to the United States, I continued my journey-first in New York, then Miami, and now in Newport Beach, where I established my clinic and expanded my paramedical work.
My core professional philosophy is similar to a physician’s: “Do no harm – and create beauty so natural and subtle that no one can tell what was done, only that something looks beautifully harmonious.”
I regularly provide complimentary treatments for oncology patients simply because it brings me joy to see their grateful, shining eyes. This work fulfills me deeply. In my childhood, I didn’t have many kind people around, and today I want to bring more kindness into the world, regardless of how challenging the world can be at times.
My career is the result of dedication, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to helping others heal through a unique blend of medical knowledge and artistic mastery.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My path has not been smooth. Losing my father and older brother at a young age forced me to grow up quickly and shaped much of my resilience. From the age of nine, I felt a strong responsibility to support my mother and to build a stable future for myself. This early loss taught me discipline, emotional strength, and independence long before my peers experienced anything similar.
Another major challenge was constantly rebuilding my life from the ground up. I lived and worked in several countries- Ukraine, Russia, and now the United States. Every move meant starting over, navigating new languages, new regulations, and entirely new professional environments. I had to rebuild my business more than once, and each time I relied solely on my skills, my reputation, and my determination.
When I moved to the U.S., nothing was familiar. I had no network, no connections, and no support system. Everything had to be earned from scratch- licenses, clients, credibility, trust. But each challenge pushed me to grow, refine my techniques, and elevate my work to a higher level.
Working with oncology patients also comes with emotional challenges. Restoring areolas after mastectomy or helping someone feel whole again after trauma requires not only technical mastery, but emotional sensitivity. There are days when their stories are heavy, but the transformation I can give them reminds me why my work matters.
These obstacles never stopped me. They shaped my mission, strengthened my professionalism, and deepened my commitment to creating work that heals, restores confidence, and brings beauty back into people’s lives.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a paramedical and permanent makeup artist specializing in scar camouflage and 3D areola restoration. My work combines fine art training with medical-based techniques to create hyper-natural, restorative results that are almost impossible to detect. I am known for collaborating with surgeons and helping oncology patients regain confidence after trauma.
I also teach other professionals and have created my own unique training programs and educational courses – techniques and methodologies that I developed myself and that are not available anywhere else.
What sets me apart is my ability to merge art, science, and innovation to elevate both the industry and the people I serve.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always a mix of discipline and creativity. I was deeply responsible from a young age, but at the same time I had a strong artistic soul. I loved drawing, sports, and anything that required focus and precision.
Even as a child, I paid attention to details that others didn’t notice – colors, shapes, symmetry, and people’s emotions. I was curious, independent, and always driven to improve myself.
Those early interests in art, anatomy, and human psychology eventually became the foundation of my career today, shaping my ability to combine creativity with a deep sense of purpose and compassion.
