Today we’d like to introduce you to Lara Janicello.
Hi Lara, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started LA Singles because I kept seeing the same problem over and over: Los Angeles is full of amazing people, yet truly connecting here can feel almost impossible. Everyone’s busy, everyone’s hustling, and dating apps have turned modern dating into an exhausting loop of swiping, ghosting, and surface-level conversations.
I realized I didn’t want to just complain about how disconnected the dating scene had become.
I wanted to do something about it.
And that’s exactly how I started my business.
I began creating intentional, in-person experiences where people could actually meet face-to-face, talk, laugh, and feel comfortable being themselves. What started as a small passion project quickly grew into a real community. Every event reminded me why I started: because when you create the right environment, genuine connections do happen.
Today, LA Singles exists because I believe LA deserves more than swiping and algorithms. It deserves a place where people feel seen, valued, and excited about dating again. And I’m proud to be building that space.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not even close, but I never expected it to be. Building LA Singles has taken grit. In a city packed with events, apps, and noise, I had to fight to prove this wasn’t just another idea. Earning people’s trust didn’t come easy; I had to show up, deliver, and exceed expectations every single time.
I started this on my own, and I’m still running it on my own without help, every event, every decision, every detail.
It’s a lot, but it also keeps me connected to the heart of what I’m building.
In Los Angeles, people’s schedules and attention shift constantly, so keeping momentum takes serious intention. Consistency is key, and I’ve had to be relentless about it, staying steady even when things felt uncertain or overwhelming.
But that’s what fuels me.
Every obstacle has made me stronger, sharper, and even more passionate about creating real connections in this city. LA Singles exists because I refused to quit, and I’m just getting started.
As you know, we’re big fans of LA SINGLES. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
LA Singles is a curated, in-person dating community built for people who are tired of swiping and ready for real connection. I host events where singles can meet naturally, comfortably, and without the pressure that usually comes with dating in Los Angeles.
One of the things I’m most known for is the wristband system I created. It’s simple but powerful different colors
( Green, Yellow, Red) that show your relationship goals and what you’re open to. It breaks the ice, makes conversations easier, and helps people quickly connect with others who want the same things. It takes the guesswork out, and people love that it turns a potentially awkward environment into something fun, clear, and inviting.
But what truly sets LA Singles apart is the heart behind it. I’m not some big corporation or faceless brand. I’m one person running this entire business on my own, planning, organizing, curating, managing, creating. Every detail, every event, every interaction comes from me personally. When people show up, they’re entering something I’ve poured real energy, care, and intention into.
I specialize in creating safe, genuine, human-centered spaces where connection feels natural again. No algorithms. No empty promises. Just real people meeting in real time.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the community I’ve built, the trust, the loyalty, and the excitement people feel when they walk into an LA Singles event.
I’m proud that people can feel the authenticity behind everything I do. They know this isn’t a mass-produced dating gimmick. It’s a passion project that’s grown into a movement.
What I want readers to know is this:
LA Singles is for people who crave something real. Whether someone wants love, connection, or simply to expand their circle, my events create the space for that to happen. I’m constantly evolving, always listening, and always building with intention. This brand isn’t just a business; it’s something I genuinely care about. And that heart is what makes all the difference.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me in a few different ways, and because I run LA Singles completely on my own, every bit of support truly matters.
If you’re a venue, brand, or local business, I’m always open to collaborations that align with creating real, intentional connections. Whether it’s hosting an event, sponsoring a night, offering giveaways, or partnering on unique experiences for singles, I enjoy collaborating with businesses that aim to bring something meaningful to the LA community.
If you’re an individual who loves what I’m building, the best ways to support are simple:
show up, spread the word, and share the experience. Share your experiences with friends, repost event updates.
Word-of-mouth is powerful, and because I’m not a big corporation with a huge marketing budget, community support is everything.
I also welcome collaborations with photographers, creators, and influencers who genuinely believe in what LA Singles stands for: authenticity, connection, and real human interaction.
At the end of the day, partnering with me means partnering with a brand built from passion, intention, and heart. I pour myself into every detail, and I’m always excited to work with people who see the value in creating something real for the singles of Los Angeles.
