Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Day.
Hi Aaron, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my career in tech as the Director of Advanced Technology at Creo Products where we built cutting-edge software, laser imaging systems, and other innovative solutions. The company eventually went public and later sold for billions. I spent a decade there, and those years shaped my understanding of how technology can transform entire industries.
From there, I transitioned into the role of CEO for one of the largest privately held industrial manufacturing companies in North America. I spent eight years leading that business and overseeing a number of acquisitions. It gave me a deeper appreciation for large-scale operations and complex supply chains.
After that chapter, I spent a couple of years in private equity before joining Canva, which reconnected me with the world of digital content creation.
In September of 2021, we founded Amaze. In many ways, it brought together everything that I’ve learned over the years: next-generation technology, digital content creation, building and integrating systems, and high-volume production. That intersection is where Amaze thrives today, and it’s what continues to drive our vision forward.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Anyone that tells you being a founder is a smooth road is not telling you the truth. In the early stages, you’re required to wear every hat and you need to get comfortable switching between them quickly if you want the company to have a real shot. The reality of building a fast-growing startup is that one minute you’re working on a marketing strategy, the next you’re leading a meeting about integration capabilities or raising capital. Each area brings with it its own unique hurdles and challenges.
We’ve learned a lot and had strong wins along the way, and each hurdle has led us to where we are now which is primed and ready to keep scaling as the creator economy continues to grow.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Amaze is empowering and supporting creators of all sizes. We truly believe there is an audience for every niche and that creators can build successful businesses regardless of follower count, as long as they have the right tools. I’m proud that our team continues to push the boundaries of what next-generation e-commerce can be, building the integrations and capabilities creators need to grow and scale their brand.
We recently introduced Amaze Moments, our new AI engine that powers digital storefronts and streamlines product design using real-time data. These types of actional insights help creators capitalize on trends and viral moments so they can connect deeper with their fanbase. AI intelligence infrastructure like Amaze Moments is the e-commerce technology of the future, it’s faster and smarter than anything we’ve seen before.
To date, creators have launched more than 12 million storefronts through our platform, and we’re just getting started. I’m excited to see how far the creator economy will go in the years ahead and how Amaze can help lead that evolution.
What were you like growing up?
I grew up in a small town in Northeast Ohio that was a little bit unique. It had a university with as many students and faculty as our town had residents, so there was an interesting culture mix of extremely intellectual individuals working alongside blue collar manufacturing communities.
My father was a botanist who worked at a large water plant facility and my mother was a social worker who ran shelters for women. As the oldest child, my parents were always encouraging me to learn as much as possible, to try new things, and challenge the status quo. I was a quiet, reserved child with a hunger for learning and curious about many things. This foundation of curiosity instilled in me by my parents has led me today to be what my wife calls “a dreamer”. I may be a dreamer, but I think of it more as being someone who can see the potential in things. I believe that ability has been pivotal to getting me where I am today.
