Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Pellegrino.
Hi Mark, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have always been interested and a proponent of art and artists.
A few years ago, I saw a need for new/emerging artists to have a show in order to be exposed and accepted to other shows. It was then, I started running pop up art events. I was fortunate enough to have friends with galleries that allowed me to use their space(s).
As time proceeded, I was able to get my own space, impell gallery located in Palm Springs in the The Lofts Art District at 610 Belardo Road ( my suite is 1000)
My mission became to expose and sell art of new, emerging and under represented artists in the Coachella Valley.
There were and will be exhibits with artists from other places. To date there has been an artist from Chicago, LA and Grenville (CA).
My gallery model is a short 4/5 day show with an opening reception and running through The Lofts Art DIstrict scheduled art walk day (the second Thursday of the month).
There are 3 to 4 artists per exhibit consisting of 2D and 3D mediums.
My main purpose is to expose artists in a cohesive show.
I insist on lower price points and portable pieces.
To date the shows have been hugely successful. Artists sell their work. Some have been picked up by other galleries or local shops.
This all said, I also use my gallery to host personal collection exhibits, installations, performance pieces, book signings.
Not to brag, but my gallery (and it is because I continue to change up the art and artist) is always populated with collectors, media and art enthusiasts.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far so good.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
First and foremost, I am an art collector. I have been for a very long time. My collection is mostly comprised of artists local to the Coachella valley. That said, I have collected art from each place that I have lived. NYC, San Francisco as well as when I travel.
My galley (impell galley) is know for introducing exciting and beautiful art to collectors, art enthusiasts and to some who are new to the art world.
I am most proud of my artists. Their work is exciting, different and affordable (for now)
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
The greatest support is for people to come and see the shows. If they are inclined to do so, to buy, share info on social media media and bring others to the gallery
My artist and I collaborate on instagram and other forms of social media
