Today we’d like to introduce you to Rajni Kapur.
Hi Rajni, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 1999, I came to the U.S. from India with a business management degree. Initially, my plan was to build my career as a senior accountant while starting a family here with my husband. When our first child was born, my in laws, who were supposed to help with childcare, had to return to India. As an immigrant and a new mother, I wanted to raise my daughter with me instead of putting her into day care right away. I decided not to go back to my accounting position, and I took a leap of faith and quit my job and joined my husband who was a Farmers Insurance agent at that time. At first, I helped him with back-office tasks while he grew his book of business. Then, we decided to co-found All Solutions Insurance and I stepped in full time.
Those first few months and years were intense and very personal. I was learning the insurance business while learning how to be a mother in a new country with limited support. I taught myself everything I could through action. I learned how to run quotes, complete applications, review loss runs, prepare submissions, talk to underwriters and reconcile the finances. I handled client calls during my daughter’s nap at the office. I rocked her baby seat with my leg while I was on the phone. I went back and forth from her little room where she played with her toys to my desk where I finished the paperwork. There was no budget to hire experienced staff, so I became the researcher, the producer, the customer service representative and the bookkeeper all in one.
My accounting background turned out to be a blessing. It taught me discipline, accuracy and respect for the numbers. I focused on writing about quality business, understanding risk and building strong relationships with carriers. I listened carefully to clients and translated complicated coverage into clear choices. I learned to earn trust one conversation at a time.
What began as a very small operation grew because we never stopped learning, improving and showing up for our clients. We expanded our capabilities from personal lines to commercial lines. We built processes that were thoughtful and compliant. We invested in people and training when we could. We embraced new tools and technology that help us respond faster and serve better. Through it all, I kept the same mindset I had in those early days with my daughter in the office. Be patient. Be consistent. Do the work no matter how unglamorous it may be that day.
Today I serve as CEO and President of All Solutions Insurance. We are proud to serve clients across multiple states and in a wide range of industries. I am especially proud that the company reflects the values that shaped its start: Family, Courage and Care. We strive to make insurance easier to understand and manage so that people can protect what they have built and focus on the future. I hope my journey shows that you can build something meaningful even when the timing is not perfect, even when you must learn as you go, and even when you are rocking a baby seat with one leg while guiding a client with the other.
As our commercial trucking business grew, we began to experience the same frustrations that our clients felt: long delays in responses from MGAs, lack of transparency, and poor communication that made it difficult to serve customers well. It became clear that in order to truly provide the level of service and reliability our clients deserved, we needed to take control of the process.
That realization led to the creation of Across America Insurance Services (AAIS). We built AAIS as a Managing General Agent that would do things differently, with responsiveness, accuracy and a sense of urgency at its core. We set up a structure where underwriting, compliance, and operations worked hand in hand, supported by real-time data and technology. Our goal was simple: to provide carriers and agents with the level of service we wished we had received ourselves.
Then we saw an opportunity to bring our best performing fleets together under one aligned program, one where safety and accountability would be rewarded, not penalized. I cofounded Platinum Transport Insurance Risk Retention Group (RRG), along with my husband, a member-owned carrier that allowed fleets to share in the stability and strength they helped create. Platinum RRG quickly became a cornerstone of our group, achieving strong capitalization and earning an A- rating from AM Best in 2024.
To ensure the same level of quality and care extended to claims, we then cofounded All American Claims Solutions (AACS), our dedicated third-party administrator (TPA). AACS was founded on the belief that every claim is a promise kept, handled promptly, fairly, and with transparency. By bringing claims in house, we could maintain the consistency and integrity our clients had come to expect from underwriting through resolution.
Together, AAIS, Platinum RRG, and AACS complete a full circle ecosystem that connects agency, carrier, and claims operations under one shared philosophy: family, courage, and care. What began as one mother balancing a baby seat and a client call has grown into a group of companies committed to doing insurance the right way, timely, transparent and human.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. I started building the agency at the same time I was learning how to be a new mother, and both required all of me. I call it Work Child balance. Some days the balance was a wish more than a reality.
My husband was out in the field selling and serving clients, so I had to run the company. I handled the finances, the back-office work, submissions, underwriting conversations, compliance and customer service. There was no budget to hire experienced staff. There was also no mentor to walk me through the details of the industry. I reached out to carrier and company professionals whenever I could, and when answers were not available, I taught myself by reading forms, studying guidelines and simply doing the work until I understood it.
The learning curve was steep. As an immigrant woman with an accent, I continuously had to earn credibility, sometimes with people who assumed I should stay home rather than build a business. I decided that knowledge and consistency would be my voice. I learned how to translate complicated coverage into plain language, to keep immaculate files and to focus on writing quality business that carriers would respect.
The hours were long, and the logistics were real. I remember going home in the evening, feeding my daughter, buckling her into the car seat and driving around the neighborhood until she fell asleep. Then I would bring her back to the office and work from eight at night until midnight, go home for a few hours of sleep, wake up to care for her through the night and be back at the office again in the morning. During the day I took client calls during her naps. I rocked her car seat with my leg while speaking with an underwriter or walking a client through a policy. I went back and forth between her play area and my desk so that she was taken care of and the work moved forward as well.
As you know, we’re big fans of All Solutions Insurance. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I serve as CEO and President of All Solutions Insurance, an independently owned agency that I co-founded with my husband. We help families and businesses protect what they have built. Our work spans personal lines and commercial lines, and we approach every relationship as a long-term partnership rather than a transaction. Clients come to us for clear explanations, thoughtful coverage design and dependable follow through.
On the commercial side we support contractors, restaurants, retailers, professional services, logistics and many other industries. On the personal side we help with auto, home, renters, umbrellas and life insurance. What connects it all is a simple promise. We make insurance easier to understand and manage. My accounting background keeps us disciplined with the numbers and focused on writing quality business that stands up to underwriting.
We are a very technology driven company. The world has changed and clients want to connect at their convenience. We have built platforms that allow people to work with us on their schedule. They can reach us, request changes and get answers without waiting for a specific office hour. We have also embraced AI in the parts of our workflow where it makes life easier for our team and faster for our clients. Automation handles routine data work so our people are not acting as data entry clerks. That gives our employees more time to focus on conversations that matter, and it gives them more time with their families. It also means our responses are more consistent and our service is more proactive.
Diversity, equity and inclusion are not slogans for us. They are core to how we hire and grow. We actively reach out to talented people who may not have had a traditional path into insurance. We give them training, opportunities and real responsibility. Many of those colleagues have become strong leaders in our company. Building careers is one of the most meaningful parts of my job.
What I am most proud of is the culture we have created. We pair heart with discipline. We teach in plain English. We document carefully. We keep our promises even when it is hard. Clients feel cared for, and our team feels supported. That combination has allowed a small operation that started with a baby sleeping in a car seat beside my desk to become a trusted agency serving a wide range of customers.
What sets us apart is the way we blend human care with modern execution. We use technology and AI to remove friction, but we never let a tool replace a relationship. We invest in people, and we measure our work. We show up the same way on hard days as on good days. That consistency is our signature.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Like any major city, LA has its challenges. The traffic and long commutes can be frustrating, and the cost of living can make it difficult for many to fully enjoy what the city offers. That being said, what I love most about Los Angeles is its incredible diversity not just in people, but in energy, ideas and opportunities. It’s a city where cultures blend seamlessly and you can meet someone from anywhere in the world in a single day. I also appreciate how the city fosters entrepreneurship and innovation, especially in industries like entertainment, tech, and business.
Beyond its creative and professional spirit, the Greater Los Angeles area is also a wonderful place to raise a family. The weather is beautiful year around, and there’s always something active and engaging to do, from cycling along the coast to skiing in the nearby mountains or enjoying all kinds of water sports. The city is home to excellent schools and world-class universities, which not only offer great educational opportunities but also attract exceptional talent from across the globe. The combination of lifestyle, learning and limitless possibilities truly makes LA a one-of-a-kind place to call home.
