Daily Inspiration: Meet Daniel Zevallos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Zevallos.

Hi Daniel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Pomona – Diamond Bar area of Los Angeles County, Shortly after starting at Diamond Bar High, my pops got a job and house in Phoenix and I relocated to Arizona. You do not appreciate or love Los Angeles until you live outside of LA. I would always come back during winter break or summer breaks to visit the brothers that were out here. During a summer break at 17, I visited my eldest brother, Cesar, who had his own production company called ZeBRo Productions and he was producing Music Videos in the Spanish market and that was the first time I fell in love with the movie/tv business.
I had started studying computer engineering in college but at that point, I was fed up with life in Arizona. During winter break of 99, I was back in the Valley hanging out in my brother’s office and learning how different software worked and using books series that I became self sufficient at working Photoshop and After Effects. I met a news Director Miguel Banojian, during that Winter which led to my first break working in Television.
I moved back to California leaving Arizona in late May of 2000 and by July I had my first gig working for KRCA channel 62 in the Newsroom as a video editor.
I was working there fulltime in the morning going to school at night and freelancing with my brother during my free time.
The morning of 9/11/2001, was a day that changed everyones life, in particular mine. I was the second person in the newsroom that day, and I was told to get us on air ASAP. So with some fear but a lot of self confidence, I went on air and thus making my directorial debut. After a while everyone slowly started to trickle in, and I gave up my seat. But my boss kept me in the control room that whole day.
After that day I was the back up and fill in when someone was sick or on vacation. A few years later I was the main camera director for news and other live programs.
In 2006 I got my first opportunity to Produce a magazine show. 2007 a game show and my career was off to the races.
I would still direct live shows on and off throughout my 16 years at KRCA, by the time I left, it was known as EstrellaTV, and it was the third largest spanish language network in the United States behind Univision and Telemundo.
I got into the music scene in 2017 working with Twiins Music Group and Morena Music Group. Recording their live musical performances for their up and coming artist. I helped prepare the launch “Chisme No Like” from a YouTube show to a NetworkTV show at the start of 2020. When the pandemic hit I found myself in search of the next step.
With a former colleague and a fire within we started Foresight Media LLC, my current company, my current project. Through Foresight Media LLC, I had the priviledge to Direct the Miss Filipino International in 2020 and 2021.
In 2023 I joined Meruelo Media to direct a magazine show for KWHY channel 22 and through them, I was subcontracted to Fox Soul directing live shows Cocktails with Queens and TeaGIF. While at Meruelo I was also trusted to record their in house Live Musical Shows for KDAY, Power 106, Cali 93.9 and KLOS. After the sale of KWHY, I kept my relationship with the company and through my company continued to Produce their Live Musical shows to date with the next one in December of this year for KDAY with a surprise artists.
This last year I also picked up a gig working directly for Fox Soul, Directing their newest talk show, LATE NIGHT LOVE.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been many struggles along the way. In my personal relationships, I have had to sacrifice time with loved ones to take lead role in a production.
While working for EstrellaTV, because of the trust earned I was leading 3 productions at a time which left little time to spend at home.
Hence I have never been married.
In 2003 my mom passed, my brother in 2004, my pops in 2009.
I almost became a father in 2011, my girlfriend at the time had a miscarriage.
I have lost many friends along the way to illnesses.
I have made it a personal pledge since my brothers passing to consistently donate blood to the red cross.
Starting your own business comes along with many highs and lows, dealing with clients who fail to pay or just take too long to pay, or flat out have checks bounce which is an even bigger mess to deal with.
You also fight with the fact that Broadcast TV is almost eliminated by streaming services. It has changed the industries structure dramatically.
The pandemic allowed many to work from home, that has made it extremely difficult to meet with people in person in 2025, everybody prefers to virtually meet via Zoom, Facetime, etc. which brings on new challenges. It is so much easier to read a room in person, opposed to trying to read a room virtually.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What I do? I have been working in the Television Industry for over 25 years. I am a Director and Producer and I specialize in Live Broadcasts.
I most recently known for directing Late Night Love on Fox Soul and for Directing and Producing Power 106 UpNext Series, KLOS Honda Rock Room, and KDAY Honorz.
I am most proud of starting Foresight Media LLC. with my brother from another mother David Muñoz Jr.
I believe what sets me apart from others is the passion and dedication I have for my craft. I take risks when I can, and I give the best of me at all times. I always bring my A game, I don’t let injuries stop me. I give back as much as I can.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I had a blessed childhood, I would have to say it was spending time with my dog Candy. Regardless of how good or bad my day was she was at the door waiting for me to come home. She would comfort me when I was sad, she would play with me when I was happy, and she would alert of any danger. She even woke me up and took me into the Kitchen shortly before the 1994 Northridge Earthquake.
