Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia V. Hodgson.
Hi Natalia V., so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Uruguay, raised in New Jersey, and now call Manhattan Beach, CA home. My journey into fashion wasn’t a straight line, I actually have two Master’s degrees in fields completely unrelated to what I do today. But once I landed in the apparel industry, something clicked. I fell in love with the balance of creativity, commerce & mass market apparel manufacturing.
Over the past decade, I’ve led sales, merchandising, and brand strategy for multimillion dollar apparel businesses, partnering with retailers like Target, Stitch Fix, Walmart and Ross. I’ve also led the team at a start up that launched over 100+ creator led merch and product brands, working with creators like Hasan Piker, The Boys & Tucker Budzyn to name a few.
Along the way, I realized how many creatives and founders had great ideas but didn’t know how to turn them into scalable brands. That’s what inspired me to start The Lines by Natalia, a platform that helps entrepreneurs launch and grow their own product lines with clarity, strategy, and confidence.
Today, I get to merge everything I’ve learned from corporate fashion with my passion for mentorship, helping others bring their ideas from concept to reality. Whether they are starting their lines or scaling their current brands, I help them take it to the next level.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not a smooth road but I don’t think it’s supposed to be. Every stage of my journey has come with its own set of challenges. Early on, I struggled with imposter syndrome, especially stepping into leadership roles in an industry that moves fast and is often unpredictable. I had to learn how to trust my instincts, advocate for myself, and make decisions even when the path wasn’t clear.
There were also seasons of exhaustion, working long hours, balancing motherhood, and still wanting to build something of my own. I think one of the hardest lessons has been learning to slow down and create from a place of alignment instead of hustle.
Through it all, my faith in God has been my foundation. Every time things felt uncertain, I leaned on prayer and the belief that He was guiding my steps, even when I couldn’t see the full picture. Those moments reminded me that purpose isn’t always comfortable, but it’s always worth it.
Looking back, I can see how every setback was actually a setup. With grace, faith, and perseverance, I’ve learned that success is so much more than achievement…it’s walking in the calling God has placed over your life.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business, The Lines by Natalia, was born out of a simple but powerful mission, to help entrepreneurs turn their creative ideas into sellable, scalable brands.
After years of leading multimillion dollar apparel businesses and working with retailers like Target, Nordstrom, and Walmart, I realized there was a huge gap between having a great product idea and actually building a profitable brand. Most people get stuck in the middle, overwhelmed by sourcing, production, and strategy. That’s where I come in.
Through The Lines Academy, my online course and mentorship program, I teach founders how to go from concept to reality blending creativity with strategy so they can launch with clarity and confidence. I specialize in print on demand, apparel + product development, and brand positioning, but what truly sets me apart is the holistic approach. I don’t just teach the “how” I teach the why, the business behind the brand, and how to create something sustainable, not just trendy.
I’m most proud of the impact, seeing my clients go from feeling stuck and uncertain to launching their lines, growing sales, and walking fully in their purpose. The brand itself is faith anchored, strategy driven, and creatively fueled.
At the heart of it, I want readers to know this: you don’t need to have it all figured out to start you just need to start with intention. The Lines by Natalia is here to guide you every step of the way.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
For me, risk has always looked a little different. I didn’t take the “leap and leave everything behind” kind of risk mine has been more of a faithful balancing act. I’ve continued growing my corporate career while simultaneously building The Lines by Natalia, which in itself has been a huge leap of faith.
It’s risky to put yourself out there, to build something with your name on it, to share your voice, and to pursue a dream while juggling motherhood, being a wife, a demanding career, and life’s everyday responsibilities. But I’ve learned that risk doesn’t always mean quitting everything; sometimes it means choosing to start anyway even when your plate is already full.
There have been many late nights, seasons of doubt, and moments of questioning if I could really do both. But I’ve seen how God shows up when you move with intention. I’ve also been incredibly blessed with a strong support system, my family, friends, and my Rocketship Mastermind community, who have believed in me, prayed for me, and reminded me of my purpose when things felt heavy.
Each step has taught me that faith and discipline can coexist that you can build what you’re called to build right where you are. So, I guess my view on risk is this: it’s not about jumping off the cliff, it’s about trusting the climb one obedient step at a time.
