Rising Stars: Meet Sandra R. Escobar of Foothill Ranch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra R. Escobar.

Hi Sandra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Born in Colombia and based in California, Sandra R. Escobar is a Creative Director and multidisciplinary visual artist who connects brands with community through art. Currently driving the bold visual world of BeatBox Beverages, she merges design strategy with cultural expression—turning packaging into a story telling

Escobar’s creative journey began in graphic design, where she quickly recognized that color isn’t just aesthetic—it’s emotional. Her work is rooted in the belief that vibrant visuals can shift mood, spark joy, and bring people together. That philosophy evolved into a practice that blends commercial design with fine art, constantly exploring how color, characters, and symbolism can form a universal language.

Her artistic universe is a vibrant chaos—crowded with curious figures, visual humor, strange symbols, and layered storytelling. Whether working on canvases, murals, hand-tufted rugs, ceramics, or nationwide brand activations, her goal remains consistent: make people smile through colorful chaos. She invites audiences to get closer, discover the details, and find delight in the unexpected.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has been fueled by pure passion — and passion can make even the hardest road feel smooth. I’ve always been driven by an inner need to create, not by a checklist of accomplishments. That said, there have absolutely been challenges: moving countries, starting over creatively, proving myself in new industries, and learning to trust my own voice in rooms where it wasn’t always heard yet.

But those challenges never felt like barriers — they felt like stepping stones. Every obstacle pushed me to evolve, to experiment, and to build a life centered around art and community. When you combine what you love with relentless curiosity and joy, success becomes a natural byproduct. I’m here because I never stopped creating, even when it wasn’t easy… and because I genuinely believe color, chaos, and creativity can move the impossible.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Creative Director and visual artist who merges art, design, and community. At BeatBox Beverages, I lead the creative direction — crafting packaging, and campaigns, that transform a beverage into a cultural experience. My work lives where brand meets community.

I specialize in building immersive visual universes. Whether it’s a nationwide retail execution, a gallery piece, or a mural covered in storytelling symbols, my “colorful chaos” aesthetic invites people to explore, discover, and smile. My background in graphic design taught me how structure and strategy can channel wild creativity — and my art practice taught me that color can change how people feel. I combine both to create work that doesn’t just look good — it connects.

What I’m incredibly proud of is building a brand that treats packaging like art. In today’s market, very few companies weave true artistic expression into their identity. BeatBox is a standout — a brand where every flavor is a character, every package is a burst of color and narrative, and every touchpoint reinforces a world of joyful chaos. No other brand in our category is creating this kind of vibrant, artistic storytelling at scale — and that uniqueness is becoming our superpower.

What sets me apart is that duality:
Artist + Brand Builder
I don’t separate art from strategy — I use creativity to build community. My Colombian roots, love for cultural expression, and belief that joy should be loud are all embedded in my work.

Ultimately, my mission is simple: create visuals that bring people together, make them smile, and invite them to join the party.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Joyful obsession. I genuinely love what I do — and that love turns into an unstoppable drive to create. I’m endlessly curious, always experimenting with color, storytelling, and new ways to make people feel something. That passion allows me to push through challenges and turn ideas that seem too bold or too wild into real, tangible work.

I also believe deeply in the power of community. Art and design are more meaningful when they invite people in, make them smile, or help them feel connected. That focus — designing for real human joy — guides every decision I make.

So if there’s one quality behind my success, it’s the belief that creativity should be fun, fearless, and shared. When passion leads, innovation follows. And when you build art that people want to be a part of, the success becomes a collective celebration
