Today we’d like to introduce you to Bernadette.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I spent over two decades working as a physical therapist in the corporate world, serving in various management and leadership roles. I was proud of my work ethic and the results I achieved, but over time I realized that being a high performer often felt like a curse. The better you did, the more work you were given — without necessarily being valued, seen, or heard.
That experience became a turning point for me. I decided to step away from the corporate environment and build something of my own — a concierge physical therapy practice where I could serve clients on my terms, with a focus on truly individualized care.
Today, I also own several wellness-based businesses that complement what I do in physical therapy. Together, they reflect my mission to help people move better, feel better, and live fuller lives — all while creating a career that aligns with my values and vision.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, it hasn’t been a smooth road — but that’s what makes the journey meaningful. When I first stepped out on my own, I had to learn everything from scratch. I built my own website, figured out marketing, and managed every part of the business myself. It was overwhelming at times, but it also taught me resilience, creativity, and the power of believing in my vision.
I’m truly blessed to have incredible clients and a strong network of referrals who’ve supported me along the way. But I’m never one to settle — I’m constantly evolving and exploring new ways to serve my community on a bigger scale. Every challenge has shaped me into a stronger entrepreneur and deepened my purpose in what I do.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I own a concierge physical therapy business that specializes in outpatient orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. My focus is on helping clients move better, perform better, and recover stronger through personalized, one-on-one care. I provide services such as return-to-sport testing, preventative injury programs, rehabilitation, and functional training — all designed to restore movement and enhance performance. I also treat and evaluate for Physical Therapy populations including, but not limited to musculoskeletal conditions, orthopedic cases, chronic pain.
What truly sets my business apart is the concierge model — I bring the clinic to you. Whether it’s at your home, gym, or training facility, I deliver the same high-level care and attention you’d expect in a traditional setting, but with the comfort and convenience of your own environment.
We also integrate localized subzero cryotherapy to support pain management, reduce inflammation, and accelerate recovery for athletes and active individuals. Over time, I’ve expanded my offerings to include spa and wellness services, using many of the same tools I rely on for sports recovery to also promote lymphatic drainage, circulation, and overall well-being.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that everything I offer ties back to one mission: helping people function at their best — whether that’s on the field, in the gym, or simply in everyday life.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
⸻
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that there are people out there who will see your worth — even when others don’t. Sometimes, the ones closest to you won’t understand your vision or may even doubt you. And that’s okay. Not everyone is meant to see what you’re building.
What matters is staying grounded in your purpose and surrounding yourself with people who support your growth, celebrate your wins, and believe in your potential.
