Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshue Avendano.
Hi Joshue, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey in technology started over two decades ago, back when dial-up tones and Windows 98 were still part of everyday life. Growing up in a Mexican household in Southern California, I was taught the value of hard work, humility, and figuring things out on your own — traits that shaped how I approach technology and business today.
In the early 2000s, I worked in IT support for companies like Pacific Sunwear and Tarbell Realtors, handling everything from POS systems to full network installations across multiple offices. It was during my time at Tarbell Realtors in 2005, before the housing bubble burst, that I started JA Tech Pro as a small side venture. I began helping local businesses after hours with their computer setups and networks — and quickly realized there was a real need for reliable, honest tech support.
Over the years, I advanced to working IT operations at the Tustin Unified School District and later served as Director of Information Technology at Mater Dei High School, managing a large-scale network and IT team for more than a decade.
When I returned to JA Tech Pro full time, I expanded its services beyond IT consulting to include web design and hosting, helping small businesses build a strong online presence alongside secure, well-managed technology systems.
Today, JA Tech Pro partners with companies across Southern California — setting up secure networks, optimizing Google and Apple Maps visibility, designing professional websites, and helping business owners feel confident about their technology. I’m proud of how far I’ve come — not just as an IT professional, but as a first-generation Mexican-American building something of my own from the ground up.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, I’ve had to learn through trial and error. When I first started JA Tech Pro back in 2005, I was doing everything myself — from fixing computers to managing clients, balancing budgets, and keeping up with new technology trends. Then the 2008 housing crash hit, and many of my early clients were in real estate, so overnight I lost a big part of my business. That was a tough lesson in resilience.
Later, when I transitioned back to running JA Tech Pro full time after years in education, the challenge was rebuilding from the ground up — finding new clients, keeping up with rapid changes in tech, and proving that a small, local company could deliver the same quality as large IT firms.
Another challenge has been balance — wearing multiple hats as a business owner, technician, and father. But each obstacle taught me something valuable: adaptability, patience, and the importance of treating every client relationship like a partnership. Those lessons have shaped how I run my business today — steady, transparent, and always evolving.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about JA Tech Pro?
JA Tech Pro is a full-service IT consulting and web solutions company based in Orange County, California. We specialize in helping small and mid-sized businesses manage their technology with the same reliability and professionalism as large corporations — without the high costs or complexity.
Our services include IT support, network setup and security, cloud integration, web design and hosting, and Google & Apple Maps optimization to help local businesses grow their online visibility and stay connected with customers.
What sets us apart is our personal approach. I’ve worked in IT for over 20 years — from field support and network engineering to IT leadership — so I understand both the technical and human sides of technology. My goal is to make tech stress-free and build long-term relationships with every client.
We take pride in being a local, bilingual, family-driven business that serves the community with honesty, professionalism, and trust. Whether we’re securing a company’s data, building their website, or helping them get found online, JA Tech Pro stands for reliability, integrity, and results that last.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The IT industry is changing rapidly, and over the next 5 to 10 years, artificial intelligence will play a major role in how businesses operate. From cybersecurity to automation and web design, AI is already beginning to influence how companies manage their technology and connect with customers.
I believe the biggest shift will be accessibility — AI tools that were once limited to large corporations will soon become practical and affordable for small businesses. That means smarter systems, stronger security, and more personalized online experiences.
At JA Tech Pro, we’re keeping a close eye on these advancements to ensure our clients are ready when it makes sense to adopt them. My focus is on helping businesses understand technology changes early, so they can stay secure, efficient, and competitive as the digital landscape continues to evolve.
