Today we’d like to introduce you to Jen DeMeo.
Hi Jen, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Nearly 8 years ago I began a journey with chronic pain and chronic illness which I still struggle with today. There was a period of several years when I was especially ill and it just seemed to get worse by the day. I was in bed most of the time, struggling with debilitating pain, enduring several surgeries and non-stop doctor appointments. It led to a deep depression and loneliness. I was so lost and desperate for things to get better. I was constantly searching for anything that may help, trying different medications, saying yes to every procedure recommended to me, and working with any healer that came my way. There was almost nothing I wouldn’t try. It was an exhausting cycle of moments of hope followed by inevitable disappointment. Deep disappointment. It was through all of this when I began to dig deep. Deep within myself, deep into any information regarding healing and spirituality that was available to me. Now something I had always felt a connection to throughout my life suddenly became a lifeline. With the help of several people, I began to find my way into this space with online communities, mentors, and friends. I developed a mediation practice, read and consumed as much information as possible, and ultimately made my way to a Reiki I and II training. In many ways, it felt like coming home; from hat moment on, I never looked back. Energy work has healed me on a soul level. Being able to share this with others, to help facilitate the same healing in them as I’ve experienced is a gift.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My progress has been slow and steady. Progress with my own personal development as well as the development and growth of my business, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I don’t believe anything about this work is easy but it’s well worth it. It is truly a gift to do what I do. It can be a balancing act at times, navigating a business not only alongside my normal daily life with my family but also my health. I am constantly discovering new things about myself, learning lessons about life and my health, and how best to manage it but that only enables me to provide more for my clients.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Reiki Master, Intuitive, and Energy Healer. I provide a safe space for my clients where, together, we work on clearing their chakras – the body’s energy centers, address any trauma, depression, anxiety, illness, pain, and stress. Beyond that though, I help connect them with their spiritual team and higher selves. One of my favorite moments in any session is being able to show my clients how protected, loved, and supported they are by their spiritual team. I remember that being a pivotal moment for me in my own journey; to truly feel and *know* that you’re never alone, that you’re always being supported and looked out for. The impact that made on me was profound. Another benefit of understanding and deepening this connection between us and our spiritual team is the ability to live in alignment as our most authentic selves. I believe that is when we are all at our best and it’s what we all deserve.
What makes me the most proud in this work is simply being able to support others in such a meaningful way. To be a safe space, to be a witness to the beauty of so many souls – it’s absolute magic.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I think my biggest lesson, my biggest takeaway along the way is that at the end of the day we all just want to feel seen. No matter what we are struggling with, whatever our successes are, we just want to know others see us and understand us. That has been a beautiful lesson my clients continue to teach me and I am eternally grateful for that reminder.
