Hidden Gems: Meet Patrick Cotter of OTL

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Cotter.

Hi Patrick, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started as a musician; first playing saxophone, producing, and engineering for other artists. That passion for sound naturally evolved into helping artists not just make great music, but actually get heard. That’s where OTL Music began.

As the company grew, I started realizing how connected the creative worlds really are; the same artists I worked with were collaborating with models, photographers, and designers. So I decided to bridge that gap and build something bigger: a creative talent agency that merges fashion, music, and culture under one roof.

Today, OTL manages everything and everyone in between; from music artists and producers to models and influencers, creating opportunities where sound and style meet. My focus has always been on connecting authentic talent with real platforms, whether that’s getting a song placed in a show, a model booked for a campaign, or an artist featured in a brand collaboration.

What started as me producing and licensing tracks in a small studio has grown into a full creative ecosystem that supports artists, models, and brands worldwide. It’s all about breaking boundaries between industries that have always influenced each other and giving creatives the space and structure to thrive!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. Like most creative ventures, the road has been anything but smooth — but that’s part of what makes it worth it. Building OTL Music meant wearing every hat imaginable: from producer and engineer to marketer, manager, and brand builder. In the early days, it was a grind trying to get people to take the vision seriously.
There were moments where I was balancing studio sessions, artist campaigns, and management calls (in addition to working full time) all in the same day, while still trying to keep the bigger picture in focus. Finding the right people who shared the same level of passion and creative drive was also a challenge.
But every obstacle including the long nights, the failed collaborations, and the constant learning curve pushed me to refine OTL’s identity. It made me realize that the chaos of the creative world can be organized with purpose, and that’s what OTL Music represents: turning that creative chaos into structure, opportunity, and impact!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
OTL Music is a creative agency that merges the worlds of music, fashion, and visual culture. We’re a collective for artists, producers, models, brands, and everything in between. What started as a small recording, production, and licensing studio has grown into a full creative ecosystem offering recording, music production, sync licensing, artist management, marketing, model management, brand development, and much more all under one roof. What sets OTL apart is our ability to connect the dots between industries — we don’t just make records, we build identities. Our artists end up on playlists, in campaigns, and in front of audiences that truly reflect who they are. We collaborate with fashion brands, models, and visual creatives to tell stories that go beyond music, because that’s where real culture happens — when music, fashion, and media collide. At OTL, we manage and develop all types of creative talent, from musicians, producers, and songwriters to models, actors, voice actors, and influencers. Our goal is to give every creative a home where their talent can expand across industries. A model might star in a music video, an artist could land a brand campaign, or a voice actor might book a commercial gig through our network. We handle music production, sync licensing, talent management, branding, and creative direction, connecting people and projects that naturally elevate each other. Whether it’s music, fashion, film, or digital media, OTL brings everything under one roof — building a true creative ecosystem where collaboration turns into opportunity. Brand-wise, I’m most proud that OTL has stayed authentic and self-built. Every connection, placement, and campaign has come from the ground up. We’ve helped independent artists get millions of streams, built playlists that rival major curators, and developed partnerships that bring artists and brands together in new ways. At its core, OTL Music is about empowerment through creativity; helping artists and creatives not just be seen, but be understood. Whether it’s a sync placement, a marketing campaign, or a full-on artist launch, our mission is to elevate the people behind the art and create timeless moments that move culture forward.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
For me, risk is a part of the creative process — you can’t build something meaningful without it. Every major move I’ve made with OTL started with uncertainty. Leaving the traditional path and choosing to build an independent creative agency from the ground up was a huge risk. There was no blueprint, no investors, and no safety net — just vision and consistency. I’ve taken risks on people, ideas, and opportunities that didn’t always make sense on paper but ended up opening doors that changed everything. Whether it was merging music and fashion, starting a management division, or launching new services before the market was ready, each risk pushed OTL to evolve into what it is now. I’ve learned that risk isn’t about gambling — it’s about trusting your instinct when no one else sees the vision yet. The right risks build character, resilience, and momentum. Playing it safe might feel comfortable, but it rarely leads to anything extraordinary. I’ve also noticed that when I take risks, people usually catch on later — and that’s when it becomes the trend. I’ve learned to trust that pattern. Whether it’s launching a new service, blending music with fashion, or building platforms that connect creatives in unexpected ways, I’ve seen how ideas that once felt “too early” end up becoming the standard a year or two down the line. It’s a reminder that leading often means being misunderstood at first — but if you stay consistent, the vision eventually speaks for itself.
