Hi Yvonne, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I like to say my business started the same way most pivots do, with curiosity, courage, and a little chaos. After spending over a decade in Fortune 100 tech, leading global sales operations, project management, employee experience and development, I was laid off. The job market pushed me to do something bold, create my own job. I had always been the person connecting people, streamlining systems, and finding ways to work smarter, not harder.
So I co-founded my business with my husband, Rene, who calls it his “side hustle.” We built it around a shared belief that technology should empower people, not overwhelm them. It’s also become a family affair. My kids are my volunteer marketing team. They review my social media posts, give honest feedback, and remind me every day why I love what I do.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but it’s definitely been a rewarding one. Leaving behind corporate comfort to start from scratch meant I suddenly became every department, marketing, operations, finance, and tech support all rolled into one.
I’ll be honest, I’m not the most “techy” person, and there’s a lot to learn, especially running an AI-focused business. But I’ve proven I can learn new skills, push myself, and I’m amazed at what I’ve accomplished in a short amount of time, probably more than I did in the last few years in the corporate tech world. When push comes to shove, I rise to the challenge, and I encourage others to do the same. Learning daily, embracing failure, and celebrating success go hand in hand. Each obstacle has reinforced my purpose and reminded me why I started, to make business growth feel simpler, smarter, and more human.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about GoPivotAI?
We’re a new small business, growing alongside our clients. Right now, we’re helping them test and refine automations while building tools that simplify their daily operations. Our focus areas include automating reputation management, smart websites with chatbots and online booking, and AI assistants for call management. Our first “employee” is Tony, an AI assistant named after my father, who handles calls and other daily tasks, giving business owners more time to focus on growth.
What sets us apart is how I merge Fortune 100 strategy with a personal, approachable touch. I don’t just “set up software.” I help small business owners see what’s possible when tech works for them, not against them.
As a woman in tech, I’m passionate about breaking barriers in spaces where we’re still underrepresented, especially AI. My brand stands for empowerment, showing women and all small business owners that you can embrace automation, stay authentic, and still lead with purpose. What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I like where we live because it’s far enough out for quiet suburban vibes, yet close to plenty of things to do, places to eat, and spots to visit. The high housing costs and seasonal wildfires are the trade-offs.
