Community Highlights: Meet Bethany Busch of Head 2 Toe Strength

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bethany Busch.

Hi Bethany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
We didn’t plan to start a business together.
It happened by accident—by happenstance, really.

Auria was Bethany’s personal training client. At first, it was just about movement. But over time, we realized we had more in common than reps and routines. We’d both been through a lot—emotionally, physically, personally. And we started helping each other fill in the missing pieces of our own healing journeys.

It wasn’t planned. But it worked.

We realized that what we were building together—through honest conversations, shared experience, and mutual support—was something we wished we’d had years ago. So we asked:
What if we created that space for other women?

That’s how Head 2 Toe Strength was born.

We combined our backgrounds—Bethany in strength and nutrition, Auria in mental health—and built a wellness practice that supports women in a way we hadn’t seen before. We work with women of color, women in all bodies, and LGBTQ+ individuals who are tired of shrinking to fit into wellness spaces that weren’t built for them.

We believe in care that’s personal, protective, and built on trust.
We walk side by side with our clients—because we’ve been there.
And we know how powerful it is to be supported by someone who truly gets it.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We started out with a shared vision, but no roadmap. Just two women trying to build something that felt honest, inclusive, and protective of the people we serve. And that meant unlearning a lot—about business, about boundaries, and about what care actually looks like when you’re not performing it for a brand.

One of the biggest challenges was figuring out how to build a wellness practice that didn’t replicate the very systems we were trying to dismantle. We didn’t want to scale fast and lose intimacy. We didn’t want to chase volume and burn out. We wanted to stay in integrity—and that takes time, patience, and a lot of behind-the-scenes recalibrating.

We’ve also had to navigate the emotional labor of being women in wellness who refuse to dilute our message. That means saying no to partnerships that don’t align, protecting our energy when others want access but not accountability, and constantly checking in with each other to make sure we’re not replicating harm in our own work.

Financially, it’s been tight. We’ve bootstrapped everything. We’ve had to make hard calls about what to offer, when to launch, and how to protect our bandwidth while still showing up for our community. But every time we’ve stayed true to our values, the right people have found us.

We’re proud of what we’ve built—not because it was easy, but because it’s real. And because it’s rooted in the kind of care we wish we’d had when we were just trying to survive.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Head 2 Toe Strength?
At Head 2 Toe Strength, we offer fitness coaching, nutrition support, and mental health therapy for women who’ve been through it—and are ready to rebuild on their own terms.

We specialize in working with women who’ve felt dismissed, misdiagnosed, or disconnected in traditional wellness spaces. What sets us apart is that we don’t separate the body from the mind. We don’t treat movement like a performance. And we don’t believe healing should feel rushed.

Our sessions are designed to feel safe, personal, and deeply supportive. Whether you’re lifting weights, unpacking body image, or learning how to nourish yourself without guilt, we meet you exactly where you are—with care that’s built for the twists and turns of real life.

We’re most proud of the fact that our brand is built on lived experience. We didn’t start this because it was trendy—we started it because we needed it ourselves. And now we get to offer that same kind of support to women who’ve been told they’re too much, too emotional, or too complicated.

We currently offer virtual consults, individualized coaching, and mental health therapy sessions, with new workshops and community events launching all the time. We also have a podcast called UpLift Women’s Wellness.

We want readers to know: you don’t have to fit in the perfection box to be seen. You don’t have to earn rest and self-care. You just have to show up—and we’ll meet you there.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to us is building a space where women feel safe, seen, and supported—without having to perform for it.

We’ve both spent years navigating wellness spaces that felt more like performances than care. Spaces that prioritize financial gain over healing, grind culture over rest, and surface-level care over real connection. We know what it’s like to be gaslit and carry heavy things (physically, mentally, and emotionally) and still be told to “push through.”

So we built Head 2 Toe Strength to be the opposite of that.

What matters most is creating care that’s honest, inclusive, and rooted in lived experience.
We care about emotional safety.
We care about real strength—not just physical, but relational, mental, and energetic.
We care about helping women rebuild without shame, without pressure, and without having to shrink to fit.

We want women to walk into our sessions and feel like they can finally exhale.

Because when women feel safe enough to show up fully, everything changes.
And that’s what we’re here for.
