Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenneth Trotter.
Hi Kenneth, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I never set out to be a personal trainer. I was a computer graphics instructor at a vocational college in the Silicon Valley. One evening, I received a call that the school was shutting down indefinitely and suddenly I was without a job. After six months of unemployment, I figured I would apply for a part-time job as a personal trainer at the gym where I worked out just to have some form of income until I found a, “real job.” Well, I excelled as a trainer and within six months was promoted to management, . At that point, I transferred to Los Angeles. I worked for that company for eight years before starting my own business as a personal trainer. 25 years later, here I am!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
When I initially started my personal training business, it really took off. The majority of my new clients came from referrals from current clientele so business was running very smooth.. it wasn’t until the pandemic of 2019 that real challenges occurred. I lost several clients who had lost their jobs. Others just stopped training because they didn’t like the idea of training virtually.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about KenisisFit?
As a certified fitness professional by the National Academy Of Sports Medicine, I am very versatile. I specialize in fat loss, corrective exercise, performance enhancement, flexibility and mobility, to name a few. I am also a certified nutrition coach. I also do some boxing with my clients. The females especially like the boxing. They say it makes them feel empowered. My personality seems to compliment any client that I acquire which not only makes me easy to work with but most importantly, my clients are all very motivated and inspired to work with me. I also train in several capacities, those being in-person, virtual, remote or online. All of my workouts are very creative and strategically innovative so there is never a dull moment.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
To all personal trainers just starting out., my advice would be to continually study your craft. Education is the key. Also, don’t be afraid to be original. Originality and being your authentic self is what sets you apart from anyone else.
