Community Highlights: Meet Andrew Vo of Tiny Tooth Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Vo.

Hi Andrew, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Tiny Tooth Co. really started as a dream — one that I carried with me since dental school. I always wanted to create something beyond just a dental office — a place where kids could build positive memories that would shape how they view dentistry for the rest of their lives. I dreamed of a space that felt welcoming, modern, and full of heart — where families felt seen, supported, and never judged.

That dream came to life in January 2024 when we opened Tiny Tooth Co. in Costa Mesa. From day one, our mission has been to create meaningful experiences through gentle, conservative, and preventive care — focusing on what’s best for each child rather than what’s most profitable. We believe dentistry should empower families, not intimidate them.

Giving back has also been a huge part of that vision. To date, we’ve donated over $100,000 to local schools and charities, offered complimentary care to families in need, and mentored countless students who want to pursue dentistry. Every decision we make — from the design of our space to how we talk to families — reflects that original dream: to create something kind, intentional, and lasting.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — like any new business, there have been plenty of challenges along the way. Learning how to create systems and structure was one of the hardest parts. Dentistry teaches you how to care for patients, but not necessarily how to run a business — so developing efficient workflows, managing a team, and maintaining consistency took time and constant refinement.

Insurance has also been a major challenge. Navigating approvals, reimbursements, and educating families on their coverage is an ongoing effort. And on top of that, owning a practice in California comes with its own hurdles — the taxes and overhead are high, and it can be tough balancing that with providing quality, affordable care.

But even with those challenges, it’s all been worth it. Seeing our community grow, watching kids leave with big smiles, and knowing we’re creating positive dental experiences that will shape how they feel for the rest of their lives — that makes every long day and late night worth it. Word of mouth, reviews, and our Instagram community have also been incredible in helping us reach more families who align with what we’re about. I’m proud of how far we’ve come and excited for what’s ahead.

As you know, we’re big fans of Tiny Tooth Co.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Tiny Tooth Co. is a pediatric dental practice built around one simple idea — that a child’s early dental experiences shape their lifelong attitude toward oral health. We specialize in pediatric dentistry, including caring for children with special needs, and our approach focuses on prevention, conservative treatment, and positive experiences from the very first visit.

As a pediatric dentist and a Major in the U.S. Army, I’ve learned the value of discipline, compassion, and service — values that are deeply woven into our practice. We take a non-judgmental and educational approach with every family, meeting them where they are and helping them make informed, confident decisions for their child’s care.

Tiny Tooth Co. is known for its bright, modern design and its fun, welcoming environment — from our signature whale logo to our Tiny’s Prize Palace toy closet. Everything we do is intentional, designed to make kids feel safe, proud, and excited to return.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
What most people don’t realize is that Tiny Tooth Co. was nearly four years in the making before we even opened our doors. Every element — from the whale logo to the calming color palette and the layout of our space — was thoughtfully designed to reflect a clear vision: to redefine what pediatric dentistry feels like. We didn’t want to create just another dental office; we wanted to build a brand and experience that would set a new standard for how children and families view oral health.

Outside of dentistry, I’m also a Master Instructor at GritCycle, and that side of my life plays a big role in how I lead. Spin has taught me discipline, connection, and energy — the same qualities that fuel our culture at Tiny Tooth Co. It’s about motivating others, creating a sense of belonging, and showing up with heart in everything we do.

Looking ahead, my goal is to grow Tiny Tooth Co. beyond Costa Mesa — to expand our reach and even take our team internationally to provide care in underserved communities. Giving back has always been at the core of who we are, and I want to continue building with like-minded individuals who share that same passion for service, joy, and purpose. What started as a dream has truly evolved into something much bigger — a movement to make dentistry kind, inspiring, and impactful.
