Meet Taylor Thomas of Perfect Fourth Incorporated

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Thomas.

Hi Taylor, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
From growing up singing in church, to majoring in music at Morgan State University; the creative arts has been a lifelong passion of mine. Traveling the world with my university choir and having a career in hospitality management introduced me to different cultures and inspired my desire to use my creativity to connect with others from all walks of life. By engaging the senses, creating memories, and cultivating joy in a sometimes joy-less world. It was in a practice room at Murphy Fine Arts center that I had the idea for the business I would start 8 years later.
In 2020 at the peak of the pandemic, I began Perfect Fourth Music Group. After moving to LA from DC in 2021 in support of a client, my professional trajectory pushed me to expand and rebrand to Perfect Fourth Inc.- a multi-creative agency at the intersection of entertainment, events, management, and music. Each brand of the company aligns with my personal passions, professional experience, and ways in which I can support today’s creative and creative outlets. Today, we are a one stop-shop for anyone needing support in multiple creative avenues.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
When you have a vision and that encompasses a multiplicity of elements, it’s never smooth. But what it does is provide opportunities to grow, pivot, and structure what works.
Specifically as a service-based business, deciding which of the many offerings to lead with can be challenging. And most times it truly depends on what services are in demand at a specific time. So figuring out how to navigate in an ever-changing market requires flexibility, insight, and proactivity,
Another obstacle would be holding on to your value when supporting those who tend to take advantage. There have been a few hard conversations, and I’ve even lost clients because needed, healthy boundaries had to be set. I had to learn that just because one pays for a service, doesn’t mean they can dictate your work-life balance or your value.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Perfect Fourth Incorporated?

I’d like readers to know that we are ready to support you! Also that we are currently accepting management clients, and adding talent/performers to our entertainment network for gigs.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like best about LA is that it intentionally creates and has spaces for creatives and entrepreneurs. There’s no capacity on what you can do.

The cost of living could always be a little better.
