Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer & Brad Klein.
Hi Jennifer & Brad, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Eco Landscape Design & Build began as a collaboration between husband-and-wife team Brad Klein and Jennifer Koll-Klein, who combined their complementary expertise in landscape construction and design to create a firm rooted in both creativity and craftsmanship. What started as a shared passion for thoughtful, environmentally conscious outdoor spaces has grown into a full-service design-build firm serving Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley for over 15 years. Today, Eco Landscape is recognized for its modern, drought-tolerant landscapes that seamlessly blend beauty, functionality, and sustainability—spaces that not only enhance the architecture they surround but also enrich the way people live outdoors. With a trusted crew, a loyal client base, and a continued commitment to design excellence, Eco Landscape continues to evolve while staying true to its original mission: to design and build outdoor environments that inspire, endure, and feel like home.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Looking back, our journey has been one of steady growth, meaningful lessons, and deep gratitude. We’ve learned that mutual respect, trust, and clear communication form the foundation of every successful project. From establishing a clear aesthetic and design direction at the start, to navigating the inevitable adjustments that arise during construction, our clients place their trust in us to do what we do best—and that trust consistently leads to the most rewarding results.
Over time, our signature style has naturally evolved, shaped by what resonates most with our clients and what brings the greatest balance of beauty, function, and practicality. We’ve always believed that great design should not only inspire but also be attainable. After all, there’s nothing more disheartening than a landscape design that never comes to life because it doesn’t align with a client’s goals or budget.
We feel incredibly fortunate that Eco Landscape has grown organically and smoothly over the years. The joy our clients feel when they see their new landscapes complete makes every challenge worthwhile. And the lasting relationships we’ve built along the way are a true gift.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Eco Landscape Design and Build?
At Eco Landscape, we are a true one-stop shop. From concept to completion, we are with our clients every step of the way. Rooted in Los Angeles, we meet in person, building relationships that allow us to bring properties to life in ways that cannot be achieved remotely. We review plans and materials on site, walk the property to discuss every aspect of the design, and are onsite daily during each installation, making adjustments as needed. Our crew, all of whom have been with us for over 10 years, understands our design vision and brings a level of expertise and master craftsmanship that enhances every aspect of our installations.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Where to start! The most valuable advice we can offer is to listen closely to what clients express from the very start. In those early conversations, they reveal the essence and purpose of what they hope to achieve with their outdoor spaces. Understanding our clients’ goals forms the foundation of our work, while elevating their ideas beyond what they imagined is our ultimate goal. Hearing time and time again from our clients how much they appreciate that we brought their wish list to life – when others have not – is very rewarding and a key ingredient for success.
