Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Elvira Zamora of Los Angeles

Elvira Zamora shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Elvira, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me is meditation and motivational practice in the morning, doing some walking on the treadmill for about 15 minutes and then on to emails. I try to keep a routine Monday – Friday in order to establish healthy and productive habits.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Elvira Zamora, I started this adventure as a clothing retailer at my father’s tailor shop, then years later I grew my love of fashion into design, creative direction, curating shows and also fashion styling. I have always had a passion for expression through style and that has been non stop since 2001, it truly is love. I am working on expanding and challenging different aspects of fashion in story telling and publications.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I had trained my mental into being part of the corporate world and make money, because in the culture we are convinced that money is the answer to everything and it solves all our issues. That is not true, not just because I experienced the heavy mental strain, but also I (saw) read and heard about people with financial stability not be at their very best in their lives with peace, or joy. I quickly had a plan to create more financial stability so that I may be able to leave the corporate world behind and live my life creating, inspiring & teaching.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Every day I want to give up and I am not alone in this feeling. Many of my peers struggle a lot in a world that tries to bring down the beauty in art. Art is dangerous and the powers that be do not want society to create, instead they want workers and spenders. That is the machine that makes billionaires & destroys our planet, I want to be part of a counter society protest but in the most fabulous way.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My friends would say that what matters to me is my family, fun and designing. Those moments are when I feel the most alive and a part of this renaissance of beauty and magic. We have one life and why not leave a mark in the most positive way.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I already gave up the corporate work schedule and chains, so I guess I am living for the moment as of now.
