Meet Kelly Benini of Pivot Artist Management in Century City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Benini.

Kelly Benini. please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I graduated from the Bandier Program at Syracuse University in 2014. Two days after graduation I packed my bags and moved to the West Coast to pursue my dreams of taking over the music business. I worked at CAA for 3.5 years, and left to start my own artist management venture, Pivot Artist Management. My first client is Toronto based rapper and producer, CHRIS YONGE. Who has amassed millions of streams across the various media outlets organically. Being an independent artist manager, I am always looking for ways to connect outside of my day to day hustle. With that, I founded a business strategy blog that gives you quick reminders of things to think about to enhance your productivity and achieve your goals (kellybenini.com).

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Going from the number one entertainment company, CAA, to building a new venture was very much a mindset switch. I had to rely on keeping myself accountable, watching trends, reading, and developing business on my own dime. It has felt like a reinvention period of my life, where I am constantly seeking out more information to grow and enhance my business.

Pivot Artist Management – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Pivot Artist Management is an artist management company, with the mission to work and empower incredible artistic talent that will shape the future of the music business. We are constantly adopting the use of new technologies, and out of the box thinking. I am most proud of working with the incredible talent that is CHRIS YONGE. He is so in tune with creating music, and product that is of top notch quality. Chris produces, sound engineers and writes/performs all of his music. It’s rare to find someone that is strong in all three categories.

What sets us apart from other companies is that the core value is to empower the Artist. The decisions we make are based on bringing the artist’s true light to the surface. When you bring an authentic honest vision to the world, you are destined to win.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Signing and getting to work with, Chris. He is the first Artist I’ve really felt I made an impact on, which is an incredible feeling.
