So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Our family has been in the vacuum business since 1946. We acquired the Brentwood location in 1995 which is when I joined the business. With new ownership at that location, the Miele company approached us about carrying their vacuums, which were not widely known at the time. I liked the product and decided to add it to our product line. The superior quality and performance of the Miele product was a perfect fit with our dedication to superior customer service and our desire to sell the best possible product to our customers. We quickly became the largest Miele dealer in Southern California. In 2013 we were able to acquire the Beverly Hills Vacuum location in West Hollywood to expand our business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As the internet grew as a means of customers purchasing the products we sell, it became our biggest competition. We are able to offer all the same products at the same or lower prices, with the addition of excellent customer service, but many customers do not give us a chance to provide that. So, over the years we have lost business to online retailers even though in many cases we could offer better pricing and/or more features for the money. The Miele product line is quite broad and many consumers could use assistance in choosing the right vacuum for their home, but it has been difficult to get that message across. We have still managed to thrive in a highly competitive environment in which many of our local competitors have gone out of business.

We specialize in high quality, durable vacuum cleaners that can clean well and last for many years. The Miele line of vacuums are our best sellers. They have built a well-deserved reputation for being the best quality vacuum cleaners on the market. They can thoroughly clean an entire house, provide extremely high filtration to improve indoor air quality, and last for many, many years. We are the largest retailer of the Miele vacuums in Southern California and stock all of the bags, parts and accessories that are needed for the Miele vacuums. We are also a factory authorized service and repair center for the Miele product line. We carry the full line of Miele Cleaning products for laundry care and for the Miele dishwashers and coffee systems. In, addition we carry the Original Persil Laundry soap imported direct from Germany. The full line of Bona Professional floor cleaning product is available in our store as well as a variety of unique cleaning products for the home.
