Hi Co-Founder of Sorsi Select, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Who are you learning from right now?
I’m constantly learning from my past self. Reminding myself of where I’ve been, what I’ve overcome, and the lessons that shaped me. I also learn daily from my husband, who brings such deep connection to his Italian roots. Together, those influences fuel Sorsi: honoring tradition while creating something fresh and meaningful for today.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
At Sorsi, we believe wine is more than what’s in the glass; it’s a story of place, people, and time. We focus on uncovering hidden Italian wineries, many of whom are sharing their bottles outside of Italy for the very first time. Our mission is to give U.S. wine lovers a taste of Italy’s most intimate and authentic traditions.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I think bonds are often broken by lack of communication, trust, and the insecurities that creep in when people feel unheard or misunderstood. What restores them is the opposite – openness, honesty, and shared moments of togetherness. For me, connection happens around a table, with food and wine, when people slow down and give each other their full attention. That sense of presence can heal almost anything.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has taught me that without struggle, you can’t truly appreciate the moments of success. Winning is just a small piece of the good stuff. What really matters is who stands beside you when things are hard. Those difficult times shape you, remind you of your strength, and make the victories feel that much richer.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies the wine industry tells itself is that the old way is the only way. Tradition is important, it’s what makes wine so special; but clinging to outdated systems of distribution and gatekeeping has kept so many incredible small producers hidden from the world. At Sorsi, we believe there’s room for both: honoring heritage while finding fresh, modern ways to share it. That’s why we focus on bringing wines to the U.S. that have never been exported before – because wine should be about connection, not limitation.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Right now, I’m building a brand that won’t fully reveal its impact for years. Sorsi is about more than importing wine, it’s about uncovering once-hidden stories from Italy’s vineyards, starting in the Veneto region and eventually across overlooked parts of the Mediterranean. The work we’re doing today lays the foundation for a future where these wines, families, and traditions are not only preserved but celebrated on a global stage.
