An Inspired Chat with Francesca Grace

We recently had the chance to connect with Francesca Grace and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Francesca, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Francesca starts her day with a coffee in hand as she reviews her calendar, emails, and project updates from her team. She prepares for the day’s meetings, walkthroughs, and installations before heading to the warehouse to oversee outgoing furniture and decor. There, she checks inventory and finalizes selections for upcoming projects. Later in the day, she’s often on-site at a staging or interior design install—overseeing furniture placement, styling, and making last-minute adjustments to ensure every detail feels intentional and on-brand.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Meet Francesca Grace — founder and creative director of Francesca Grace Home, a Los Angeles-based home staging and interior design studio. Known for her bold use of color, layered textures, and curated vintage pieces, Francesca brings a distinct, editorial flair to every space she touches. Alongside her design work, she also owns Somme, a storefront on Sunset Blvd in Silver Lake, where her signature style comes to life through a rotating collection of home goods, decor, and furniture. Whether she’s staging luxury real estate, designing custom interiors, or sourcing pieces for the shop, Francesca remains hands-on in every aspect of the creative process — ensuring each project feels both personal and unforgettable.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
There was a moment early on when I walked through a staged home and felt completely uninspired. Everything was so plain — beige tones, generic furniture, no sense of personality or story. It made me realize how much of the staging world had become formulaic and safe. That didn’t sit right with me. I knew I wanted to build something different — a brand that pushed boundaries and brought style, soul, and individuality into every space. That moment is what ultimately shaped Francesca Grace Home. I wanted our stagings to feel curated, bold, and full of life — not just sell a house, but tell a story. And that mindset still drives everything we do today.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Definitely. When I first started Francesca Grace Home, I was wearing every hat — designing, staging, sourcing, managing installs, handling logistics — all on my own. It was exhausting, and there were moments where I truly questioned if I could keep going. The physical and emotional weight of building something from the ground up was overwhelming at times. But every time I thought about giving up, I reminded myself why I started — to shift the narrative around staging, to create spaces that felt alive and meaningful. Slowly, I built a team that believed in that same vision. Looking back, I’m grateful I didn’t quit, because the brand wouldn’t be what it is today without those hard moments.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That staging has to be neutral to appeal to buyers. For so long, the industry has clung to the idea that beige sofas, bland art, and minimal personality are the only way to make a space “sellable.” But I’ve found the opposite to be true. People connect with warmth, with character, with emotion — and when you create a space that feels intentional and stylish, it stands out. It tells a story. Another lie? That staging is just filling a space with furniture. To me, it’s a form of storytelling — every piece, every layer has a purpose. It’s not just about making a house look livable; it’s about making it unforgettable.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m at home in my garden, hanging out with my chickens, three cats, and dog. There’s something really calming about being outside with them — the fresh air, their quiet company, and just the simple, slow pace of it all. After a busy day of work, it’s the best way for me to unwind and reset.
