Dr Manreet Sangha of Venice, CA on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Dr Manreet Sangha shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Manreet, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
One of the most misunderstood things about physical therapy is that it’s only for people who are injured or recovering from surgery. In reality, physical therapy is about optimizing how your body moves and functions — not just fixing what’s broken. We work on prevention, performance, and overall movement health, so people can stay active, avoid injury, and live without pain. It’s not just rehab, it’s a proactive investment in your long-term physical well-being.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Manreet Sangha, a physical therapist and owner of a cash-based, one-on-one physical therapy and performance practice. I specialize in helping active people move better, recover faster, and prevent injuries — so they can keep doing the things they love without being sidelined. My brand is built on personalized care, science-backed assessments, and tools like our InBody body composition analysis to help clients see their progress in real time. I’m passionate about making physical therapy proactive, not just reactive, and empowering people to take control of their long-term movement health.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Before I fully believed in myself, my fiancé, family, and friends already saw the bigger picture of who I could be. They saw my drive, my ability to connect with people, and my passion for helping others live healthier, more active lives — even in moments when I doubted it. Their confidence in me became the mirror I needed to see my own potential more clearly. They reminded me that my skills, vision, and heart for service weren’t just dreams — they were the foundation for something real and impactful. Looking back, I realize they weren’t just cheering me on; they were holding space for me to step into the version of myself they already knew existed.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The biggest thing that’s ever held me back hasn’t been a lack of opportunity or resources — it’s been the fear of not succeeding and not being good enough. That fear made me second-guess my abilities, play small when I should’ve stepped up, and delay taking action on ideas I believed in. I’d get stuck in the ‘what ifs’ — what if I fail, what if people don’t take me seriously, what if I’m not ready? But the truth is, waiting for perfect confidence or perfect timing never moved me forward. Learning to act despite the fear, and to see failure as part of growth, has been the most freeing shift I’ve made.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
A belief I used to hold on to tightly — and now see as completely wrong — was that I wasn’t smart enough to start my own practice. I convinced myself I didn’t have the right background, the right resources, or the right experience to make it work. I thought I had to work for someone else because that felt safer and more realistic. Looking back, I realize that belief wasn’t the truth — it was fear disguised as logic. The skills, passion, and resilience I already had were more than enough. I just needed to trust myself enough to take the leap.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I’m at my most peaceful when I’m treating patients. In those moments, everything else fades away — the noise, the to-do lists, the self-doubt. My full focus is on the person in front of me, listening to their story, understanding their needs, and helping them move toward a healthier, pain-free life. There’s a calm that comes from knowing I’m exactly where I’m meant to be, using my skills to make a real difference. It’s not just work; it’s the place where my mind, heart, and purpose all align.
