Good morning Dr. Tara, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
“Lately, what’s been bringing me the most joy is deeply integrating into my mother archetype after giving birth to my second child. I’m really embracing how special and fleeting this season is, which makes me more present. I’m aware that everything I do and say shapes my children’s psyche, so I’m focusing on modeling the behaviors and values I want them to grow with. I’ve been learning to slow down, match their pace, and in the process, my newborn is teaching me how to be softer, gentler, and more present in every moment.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Dr. Tara Rasta, and my work was born out of my own healing journey. In my 20s, I struggled with health challenges that left me exhausted, missing classes at UCLA, and spending more time in doctors’ offices than living my life. Those years could have broken me but instead, they ignited a fire in me to understand the deeper intelligence of the body and how it heals.
That path led me into the world of natural remedies, chiropractic care, and ultimately Network Spinal, a practice that didn’t just help my body, but reconnected me to my heart, my intuition, and the innate wisdom that I had lost touch with. It helped me release years of trauma and opened me to a gentler, more present way of being with myself and others.
Today, at Rasta Wellness, I help others reclaim that same connection. I combine functional testing ; like blood chemistry, stool and DNA analysis with deeply restorative therapies such as Network Spinal, craniosacral work, lymphatic drainage, and visceral manipulation. We also use healing technologies like HiTop cellular therapy, vibroacoustic sound healing, and infrared sauna to support the body in every layer of its recovery.
What makes my work special is that it’s not just about fixing a symptom, it’s about bringing people back home to themselves. It’s about weaving together body, mind, and spirit so that healing isn’t just physical, but also emotional and soulful. My mission is to help people remember the incredible wisdom inside them, to release what no longer serves, and to step fully into the vibrant life they were meant to live.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself was the one I had with my dad. When I was 14, I asked him what he would do if I ever got pregnant. He looked at me and said, “Nothing—it’s your life. You’re smart enough to decide what you want to do and how you want to shape it.” That moment gave me a deep sense of trust in myself and a belief that I was capable of making powerful choices.
My dad also nurtured my mind in beautiful ways. He would take me to different libraries, and we’d spend hours wandering the aisles. He always bought me whatever books I wanted, and when I started finishing them too quickly, he even paid for a service that delivered and picked up new books. His trust and encouragement shaped me into someone who values her own inner wisdom, loves learning, and feels powerful in knowing she can create her own life.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be: “Your worth is not defined by performance or perfection. You are valuable and enough simply because you exist. Even if you don’t excel, even if you don’t get the A, even if you stumble—you are still worthy of love, respect, and belonging. You don’t have to be perfect to be deeply loved.”
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes—the public version of me is very much the real me. I thrive when I’m living in my most authentic self. I don’t try to hide my vulnerability; in fact, I share it openly, even in my public life. The more authentic I am, the lighter and more joyful I feel.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I am absolutely doing what I was born to do. This work feels so natural to my soul it lights me up. I feel most alive when I can unravel the mystery behind someone’s illness, when a patient who once relied on a wheelchair begins to walk again, or when I discover a new way to help the body come back into balance. I believe I was given a gift to hear what blocks someone’s healing whether it’s an unresolved trauma or an unexpressed passion and guiding them through that process feels like my true callin
