Community Highlights: Meet Gina Stoj of Gina Stoj Management

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Stoj.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into the entertainment industry started not as an agent, but as a “stage mom” to my son, Jason. From the very beginning, I was determined to do everything I could to help him succeed. This was before industry knowledge was easily accessible online, so I dove deep – ordering every entertainment business book I could get my hands on from the US and learning everything I could about the field.

I managed Jason’s early career myself, and at just 15 years old, he landed the role of a lifetime: a lead in an ensemble cast for what was, at the time, the highest-budget feature film ever made in Australia.
Once that film wrapped, I started looking for agency representation for him. But local agents wouldn’t even consider him until the movie was released—and even then, they said it would all depend on the film’s success. Jason turned to me and said, “Why don’t you represent me?” I laughed. I had no experience as an agent. But I had his best interests at heart—and what did I have to lose?

Soon, more and more people asked me to represent them too. I suddenly had a small roster of hopeful young actors relying on me. So, I threw myself into the work. I had a computer, a phone, internet access, and a burning passion to make it happen. And most importantly, I had grit, a strong work ethic, and a background in business.
That was 25 years ago. Everyone said I wouldn’t make it. That I wasn’t qualified. That I couldn’t do it. But I didn’t listen.

Now, my agency has grown to have representation across Australia, Los Angeles, and New York. I work with both established professionals and bold emerging actors ready to break out—and yes, I still proudly represent my son, Jason.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any career in the entertainment industry, the road hasn’t always been smooth—but I’m proud to say there’s been no challenge I haven’t overcome.

One of the hardest aspects, especially early on, was the emotional side of the business. I give my all to the actors I represent, and over time, you form real bonds. Watching some of those clients move on to other agencies after I’ve helped build their resumes and reputations used to feel deeply personal. It would break my heart. But with time, I’ve learned to accept it as part of the business.

Another challenge has been the sheer time commitment. This is not a 9-to-5 job. It’s more like 3:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., six or seven days a week. Since the pandemic, most of the industry has moved to remote work, which means there are no boundaries and no “off switch.” It’s constant, and you have to love it. You have to be all in.
And I am.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
What truly distinguishes my agency—even after 25 years in the industry—is our unwavering commitment to nurturing emerging talent. While many agencies focus solely on actors with extensive résumés, I have a deep-seated passion for discovering and developing new artists. I take immense pride in identifying raw potential and guiding these individuals as they evolve into seasoned professionals.

This dedication stems from my own journey. When I began, I was a newcomer to the industry, and it was the trust of early clients that propelled me forward. Today, I feel a profound responsibility to “pay it forward” by offering the same opportunities to the next generation of actors.

Our agency operates across Australia, Los Angeles, and New York, representing a diverse roster of both established and up-and-coming talent. We provide personalized career development, strategic guidance, and unwavering support tailored to each actor’s unique path. Our approach is holistic—we’re not just about securing roles; we’re about building sustainable, fulfilling careers.

I’m most proud of the lasting relationships we’ve cultivated and the success stories we’ve been a part of. Our brand stands for integrity, dedication, and a genuine belief in the artists we represent. For readers seeking representation or collaboration, know that with us, you’re not just another client—you’re part of a family committed to your growth and success.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
