Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Porras.
Sabrina, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Fashion has always been a big part of my life, but I never imagined it would turn into a career until I saw how deeply it could impact others. I grew up in California, and some of my earliest memories are of thrifting with my grandma. I fell in love with the process of finding unique pieces and putting together outfits that told a story. Over time, I became the go-to person for friends and family who needed help shopping or getting dressed for something special. I didn’t realize it then, but I was already doing the work of a stylist – I just hadn’t given it that title yet.
After working in various roles in the fashion industry, from retail at places like Nordstrom and sales at The RealReal, to running my own vintage shop where I sold thousands of handpicked pieces, I started to understand how clothing could do so much more than just make someone look good. It could change how they feel. I began styling clients one-on-one, and everything clicked. As soon as I saw how my work could make a real difference in someone’s life, how it could boost their confidence, change the way they carried themselves, and help them feel like the best version of themselves, I knew this was my true calling.
Since then, I’ve had the honor of working with a wide range of clients, including athletes, public figures, professionals, and everyday people going through life transitions. I’ve helped them clean out their closets, rebuild their wardrobes, and rediscover their personal style. I believe getting dressed should be a joyful, empowering experience, not a stressful one. And I take so much pride in being the person who helps make that possible.
Today, I’m focused on continuing to grow my styling business and expand the ways I support people, whether that’s through personal shopping, event styling, or full wardrobe transformations. Every client I work with reminds me why I started in the first place: to help people feel seen, confident, and comfortable in their own skin.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road- but I think that’s what makes the journey meaningful. One of the biggest challenges was finding the courage to work for myself and step into the unknown. Becoming my own boss meant letting go of the security that comes with a more traditional path and learning to trust my instincts, especially in an industry that doesn’t always come with a clear roadmap.
Another struggle was finding clients in the beginning. I didn’t have connections in the styling world or a network of people to lean on. I had to figure a lot of it out on my own; how to price my services, how to market myself, and how to build something sustainable from the ground up. It was a lot of trial and error, but over time, I started to find my rhythm and gain confidence in both my vision and my ability.
Looking back, every challenge helped shape me into the stylist and business owner I am today. I’ve learned to embrace the hustle, stay creative even when things are tough, and celebrate every win- big or small. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business is all about helping people feel confident, authentic, and excited about what they wear. I’m a wardrobe stylist based in California, and I work one-on-one with clients to transform their closets and refine their personal style. Whether it’s a full wardrobe overhaul, event styling, or simply helping someone find their signature look, I tailor every experience to fit the individual.
My styling approach is personal, hands-on, and rooted in helping each client feel seen and empowered. I love mixing timeless pieces with trend-forward elements to create looks that feel fresh, functional, and completely unique to the person wearing them. I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients, from executives and lawyers to athletes and everyday individuals, each with their own goals and style journeys. No matter who I’m working with, I take the time to understand their lifestyle, preferences, and challenges so we can build a wardrobe that truly works for them.
I’m also known for my work in streetwear styling, which is one of my personal passions. I love the creativity, edge, and self-expression that streetwear allows- it’s bold, cultural, and constantly evolving. I have the incredible opportunity to work with a client in the NBA, Zeke Nnaji, helping him craft looks that were elevated, fashion-forward, and still true to his laid-back, athletic style. Styling for someone in the public eye challenged me to think creatively while staying authentic to who he is, and it deepened my love for curating streetwear that makes a statement without saying a word.
One thing I’m especially proud of is my commitment to sustainability. I’ve built a reputation for bringing clients to consignment stores and finding one-of-a-kind, sustainable pieces that make their wardrobe feel fresh and special, without relying on fast fashion. I love showing people how they can shop consciously and stylishly. It’s not just about looking good, it’s about feeling good about what you wear and where it comes from.
At the heart of my brand is a genuine desire to help people show up as the best version of themselves. My clients trust me to guide them through that process with honesty, creativity, and care. Whether you’re getting ready for a new job, recovering from a life shift, or simply ready to invest in yourself, I’m here to help you build a wardrobe that tells your story.
What’s next?
Looking ahead, I’m really excited to continue growing my business and expanding the types of clients I work with, particularly in the sports world. As someone who genuinely loves basketball and has a deep appreciation for streetwear, I’ve found so much joy in styling athlete clients. There’s something powerful about merging performance, personality, and fashion into looks that feel effortless but make a strong impression. I’d love to work with more athletes who want to build a personal brand through style, both on and off the court. Long-term, I’m focused on continuing to elevate my clients’ experiences, exploring more creative collaborations, and staying rooted in what I love- helping people feel confident, stylish, and like the best version of themselves.
