Today we’d like to introduce you to Maryna Slynko.
Hi Maryna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Maryna Slynko. I am an international nail aesthetics champion, a certified judge at global competitions, an educator, and the founder of “Slynko Beauty Bloom” studio in the United States.
My journey in the beauty industry began over 10 years ago in Ukraine. That’s where I trained, grew professionally, and shaped my unique style and philosophy of work. I’ve always been drawn not just to technique, but to depth — how to create a service that leaves not only beautiful nails, but a lasting impression, atmosphere, and trust.
When the war began, I was forced to leave Ukraine and temporarily moved to the Czech Republic. There, I adapted to new circumstances and obtained all the required international licenses. Later, I relocated to the United States, where, within a year, I opened my own business — Slynko Beauty Bloom.
This is not just a salon where nails are done. It’s a space built on Slavic techniques, high standards of hygiene, premium service, and a deep understanding of aesthetics. My clients don’t just receive a procedure — they enter a world where every detail matters.
I have earned over 15 medals at international championships, including multiple Grand Prix Cups in my category. Today, I have the honor of serving as a judge at international competitions. I also work as an educator, mentor, and the creator of my own training programs. I design custom tools for electric manicure, write industry publications, and help other professionals grow to the next level.
My mission is to show that the nail industry is about much more than gel polish. It’s about skill, confidence, dignity, and care. And every artist who understands that is already redefining the quality of our profession.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, my journey has definitely not been easy.
I started my career in Ukraine, where I spent years developing my skills, building my reputation, and shaping my own professional style. When the war began, I was forced to leave my home, my studio, and everything I had created from the ground up. I moved to the Czech Republic, where I went through the difficult process of adapting to a new country, continuing my education, and obtaining additional European diplomas and professional Czech licenses to work in the beauty industry.
Later, I moved to the United States — and once again, it was a fresh start. Building a business in a new country meant learning a completely new system, new rules, a new language, a different culture, and an unfamiliar market. It was incredibly challenging: from language barriers to financial pressure, and doing everything alone without any familiar support. But all of these experiences made me stronger. They taught me resilience, flexibility, and how to stay true to my values no matter what life brings.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business wasn’t born from the idea of “having a salon,” but from a deep belief that beauty services can be much more meaningful than just “neat nails.” I wanted to create a space where every client feels valued — where everything is built on quality, atmosphere, respect, and high standards.
Slynko Beauty Bloom is more than just a studio. It’s the result of my experience, my mistakes, my victories, and constant learning. I’ve gone through every stage myself — from renting a chair to launching my own brand in the U.S. I develop signature techniques, create custom tools, educate other professionals, and strive to elevate how the nail profession is perceived on a global scale.
The greatest value in my business is people — clients, my team, fellow professionals. And my biggest inspiration is seeing how women blossom when they feel genuinely cared for.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m open to collaborating with those who value precision, sensitivity in technique, and a deep respect for the art of nails. My specialties include Slavic manicure, combined techniques, and electric file work — especially in the area of delicate, detailed cuticle treatment.
We can collaborate through educational projects, training programs, championships, or product development focused on clean, safe, and high-standard professional work.
I’m available as a mentor, judge, or educator for initiatives aimed at elevating the beauty industry. You can also support me by sharing my content, joining my trainings, or reaching out with ideas to co-create something meaningful for the nail community.
