Today we’d like to introduce you to Fae Fatale.
Fae, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember. Growing up I was constantly writing songs and performing them to my family and friends. If I wasn’t writing songs; I would be creating poems and short stories.
Fae Fatale was born from my desire to share, empower, and entertain. I believe storytelling is one of the greatest powers we possess that can truly bring people together. With each song I write, I build a world that my listeners can immerse themselves in. Each creative piece, I imagine I am playing a different character and she is embarking on a new chapter. I tie my love for screenwriting, song-writing, and directing into one for this project and create short cinematic horrors for my visual productions to accompany the songs.
I released my first song, Lobotomy, in August 2024, and just dropped my fourth single, Grim Reaper, yesterday. Along with it, I’m gearing up to release my third music video, my biggest project to date; that I wrote, directed, and brought to life with a dream-come-true team. I feel incredibly lucky to be creating the kind of art I’ve always imagined—alongside the people I love and admire. My producer, Ryan Davis, and I are currently editing the video together, and it’s set to premiere Friday, April 18th. We’re also preparing to release another single, which I’ll be announcing very soon!
Each song begins with me writing the lyrics and melodies on my own, and then bringing them into the studio with Ryan. That’s where the magic happens. We share similar sensibilities but come from very different musical backgrounds, which makes our collaboration really unique. We have an awesome synergy. Every track has its own process, and with each one we’re constantly growing as artists.
We have so many more songs and visual projects in the works. This is just the beginning and I can’t wait to share everything that’s coming!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, not at all. But with anything worthwhile comes challenges, sacrifice, and dedication. That’s just part of being human and especially true when you’re pursuing a creative path.
I’ve only just begun my journey as an independent artist, but even before I launched my music, there were plenty of struggles. I still face new ones all the time, and I know there will always be more ahead. But if you learn to love the process, you’ll always find a way to rise above.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a singer-songwriter, director, designer, stylist, producer, and writer. My work is deeply inspired by cinematic horror, and that influence bleeds into everything I create. Whether it’s a cathartic revenge song about reclaiming your power by hypothetically burying someone alive in the desert (Raw Meat), or a scene where I eat a special effects heart made of gummies out of a man’s chest (Know You Best music video), there’s always a horror element woven in. Even my latest single, which has a completely different vibe from the others, still revolves around themes of death.
I create a lot for each project. For Raw Meat, I made fake raw meat out of a concoction I blended together with food coloring, rice krispies, and vegan marshmallows. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty and I’m often pouring fake blood on myself, building a prosthetic onto me or a friend, eating some gorey prop, and freezing while shooting at some crazy hour of the night to get the best shot. For my last video I spent hundreds of hours on planning the video, sourcing and building the masks, clothing pieces, and accessories for the actors which I’ll be sharing online soon!
I also love designing marketing campaigns for each song. Every campaign is unique, allowing me to explore different creative mediums and themes to capture the attention of both new and returning listeners. I approach these campaigns in a similar way to how I write music videos and songs. They’re extensions of the worlds I create with each track, pushing me to think outside the box and take risks.
I build dark fairytale worlds with every piece of art I create. I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve created my own world with this project where I can fully explore every part of that vision. Each song allows me to explore a new theme and see where I can really push the boundaries to make my visions come to life.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
It truly takes a village. I’ve been really lucky to have a tremendous amount of support from my friends, mentors, coaches, family, and now, my fans. My heart is full of gratitude for everyone who’s shown me love along the way. I have the kindest, most supportive fanbase, and connecting with them has been one of the most magical experiences of my life. They mean the absolute world to me and I am so grateful for every single one of them.
One of the biggest supporters in my journey has been my brother. He was actually the one who introduced me to my very first metal song! He’s been one of the biggest champions of my music. His support was instrumental when I decided to pursue my art as a career. He encouraged me to take those first big leaps and dive in headfirst. I’m endlessly grateful to him for always believing in me and pushing me to chase my dreams.
