Life & Work with Christine Garcia of Santa Clarita

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Garcia.

Hi Christine, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always had an interest in photography ever since I was a kid. I even based a school project on becoming a photographer because it felt a dream job. But as life unfolded, I ended up on a different path. It wasn’t until I moved back to California from the East Coast in 2023 that the idea of pursuing photography professionally really came back to me. I had to leave the company I was working for in New Jersey and the timing just felt right. Moving back to my home state gave me the space and clarity to finally go for it and I haven’t looked back since! A special thank you to my husband and our daughter. My husband, who is always so supportive of me and any and all passions I have. Our daughter, who inspires me constantly to evolve and grow. I love you!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like a lot of people I’ve struggled with imposter syndrome. There are days where I question if my work is good enough or if it’s measuring up to the vision I have in my head. It’s something I work through one day at a time. I’ve learned to give myself grace while still pushing to grow and evolve both for myself and for the people who trust me with their stories.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a photographer who loves telling real love stories in a cinematic and authentic way. I love working with couples that want more than just pretty photos and aim to create images that feel like a scene from a movie. What I’m most proud of is how connected I am with the people I work with. I truly care about their stories and I think that shows in the final gallery. Every session is personalized, every detail matters and I pour my heart into making it an experience not just a photoshoot.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a quiet and introverted kid, but was a totally different person around the people I felt safe with. Then I was loud, energetic, and definitely talked way too much. This still holds up as an adult. I can YAP with the right people. I loved drawing, photography, playing video games, and making videos on an old school camcorder. Those videos will stay hidden forever. I still cringe thinking about some of them, but they played a big part in how I started exploring my creativity.
