Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaitlin Janevski.
Hi Kaitlin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Archer & Arrow was born from necessity meeting passion. After navigating the challenges of today’s unpredictable job market, I found myself at a crossroads that forced me to ask the question we sometimes avoid: what truly brings me joy?
The answer was surprisingly clear. Throughout my career in the beauty and fashion industries, I’ve planned countless corporate and private events, and nothing has ever given me the same satisfaction as watching a room come alive—seeing people connect, learn something unexpected, and leave with memories they didn’t have when they walked in.
So I made the decision to build something of my own, centered around not just event planning, but creating experiences I’m genuinely passionate about. Archer & Arrow represents that perfect intersection of professional expertise and personal enthusiasm—because I believe the best work happens when you care deeply about what you’re creating.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m just getting started with Archer & Arrow, and honestly? There’s definitely been quite the learning curve!
Starting your own business is no joke – you’re suddenly wearing all the hats and making all the decisions. But here’s what’s been amazing: I’ve been incredibly fortunate to meet people who genuinely believe in what I’m doing and want to work with me. That support has made all the difference.
Even though I’m running the show, I learn something new literally every single day. Whether it’s a conversation with a vendor, feedback from a client, or figuring out the business side of things, I’m constantly taking notes and growing from these interactions.
Nothing worth doing comes without struggle, but I’m really trying to look at each challenge as just another part of the learning curve rather than a setback. When something doesn’t go as planned, I ask myself, “Okay, what can I take from this?” and then carry that lesson forward.
The best part is seeing how each event gets stronger as I apply what I’ve learned. I’m building this business one experience at a time, and while it’s not always smooth sailing, it’s absolutely worth it when I see an event come together exactly as envisioned.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At Archer & Arrow, I create events that actually mean something. With my background in beauty and fashion, I know how to make gatherings look gorgeous, but what really drives me is making sure they have purpose too.
Here’s what makes us different: every single event supports causes I genuinely care about – from LA Wildfire Relief to Autism awareness to The Trevor Project. I’m 100% committed to being exactly who I am through this process, and that includes giving back.
I didn’t start this business just to build something for myself. I wanted to do as much good as I possibly could along the way. When people leave our events having had an amazing time AND knowing they’ve contributed to something meaningful – that’s when I feel we’ve truly succeeded.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
It might sound cliché, but the biggest lesson I’ve learned is to listen—and to trust my instincts. If something feels too good to be true, it usually is. That doesn’t mean you write it off completely, but it’s important to stay cautious and thoughtful as you explore opportunities. At the same time, I’ve learned that kindness goes a long way. No matter how big or small the opportunity, there’s never a reason not to lead with kindness and professionalism, especially in those first conversations. You can protect your business and be a good human—it’s not one or the other.
