Exploring Life & Business with Erin Farnsworth of Farnsworth Builders

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Farnsworth.

Erin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Wes Farnsworth, the CEO of the company (and my brother), began his journey on the Westside of Los Angeles in 2011. His passion for building was inspired by a unique blend of influences—his father, a custom redwood burl furniture maker, and his grandfather, an engineer. This combination sparked a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and a respect for superior infrastructure, ultimately shaping his vision for custom homebuilding.
Before founding his own company, Wes honed his skills under the guidance of a master electrician and later a custom home builder on California’s Central Coast. He also explored real estate investment, taking on projects to remodel and restore properties—experiences that further fueled his passion for building.
The move to Los Angeles was driven by the allure of beachside living infused with urban energy and rich architectural diversity. What began as a series of small-scale remodels with an emphasis on luxury and fine craftsmanship has grown into a thriving business built on word-of-mouth referrals and lasting client relationships.
Today, the company specializes in building custom luxury homes across the Westside of Los Angeles, with most of our work concentrated in Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City, Mar Vista, and Malibu.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a journey built on hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. From the beginning, we’ve made it our mission to approach every project with the highest level of care and craftsmanship—no shortcuts, no compromises.

Along the way, we’ve had the privilege of collaborating with some truly incredible homeowners and talented architects. The experience has been not only rewarding but genuinely enjoyable every step of the way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We’re a close-knit, family-run company with a strong foundation of long-standing team members. Myself, in the roll of customer care and business development, along with my brother Wes Farnsworth (CEO) have been working together for over 2 decades. We lead the Farnsworth Builders now alongside Nicole Farnsworth, Wes’s wife (CFO) and Matt Testa, friend of many years (Operations Manager). Each of us brings a rich background—personally and professionally—which fuels our commitment to running this business with integrity, focus, and precision. Meeting deadlines, staying on budget, and getting every detail right is our top priority.
We specialize in building custom luxury homes that combine distinctive craftsmanship with smart, future-ready infrastructure—homes designed to stand the test of time and serve generations to come.
With a dedicated in-house team, we self-perform many trades to maintain strict quality control and keep projects on schedule. We also design and install our own solar systems, integrating them directly into the home’s infrastructure—not as an afterthought or subcontracted element, but as a seamless part of the build.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
We’re currently on the ground in Pacific Palisades, working every day—clearing sites and moving projects forward. Some of our clients lost their homes, and we had active job sites affected by the disaster. We’re committed to helping fire victims move forward with as little stress as possible, offering steady support and guidance throughout the planning and building process.
