Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander Gusev.
Hi Alexander, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always loved art. As a kid, I went to art school, where I learned the basics of drawing, composition, and color. That early experience shaped the way I see the world and definitely influenced my creative path later on.
At 19, I bought my first camera and started taking photos of architecture and nature, just walking around, capturing what inspired me. In 2014, I entered a photography contest and won the Viewer’s Choice Award. The prize was a cash reward, which I used to take a jewelry photography course and upgrade my gear with a new lens. That step really helped me grow.
Over time, I started shooting different events like corporate parties and weddings, gaining more experience and confidence.
But I realized that my true passion was in product photography. I loved the control, the styling, the details, it just felt right.
Me and my son, we’ve always been fans and had a collection of LEGO minifiguries, we found out about a LEGO photo contest. I entered just for fun and ended up winning second place. That led to becoming an official LEGO photographer in 2015. I worked with them and other brands like Hasbro for several years, creating fun little scenes and stories, creative content for their marketing campaigns.
Back in Moscow, I worked with a variety of product brands across different industries. My projects ranged from shooting for local FMCG companies like Moscow Brewing Company to working with international names like Campina. I also created content for jewelry brands such as Sokolov and even collaborated with financial institutions like Raiffeisen Bank. Each project gave me the chance to explore new styles, adapt to different brand needs, and grow as a product photographer. I loved the variety—it kept things fresh and constantly challenged me to evolve.
After moving to the U.S. in 2022, I started building my photo studio in Los Angeles. I began with jewelry and sunglasses photography and now also offer video production for brands.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not always smooth. For a long time, I didn’t really believe that photography could become a full-time career. It felt more like a passion or a creative side project than something I could fully rely on to support myself financially. So while I kept doing photography on the side, I worked full-time as a system administrator at an insurance company.
It wasn’t until 2015, when my second son was born, that things shifted. I wanted to spend more time with him and have a more flexible schedule. That’s when I made the big decision to leave my corporate job and focus on photography full-time. It was scary, but also the best thing I could’ve done. From that point on, I started taking my creative work seriously—not just as a hobby, but as a real business.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I run this business together with my wife—we’re a team both in life and in work. She brings over 10 years of experience in sales and marketing, having worked closely with various brands over the years. When we started our studio, we divided our responsibilities in a way that plays to our strengths: she manages all client communication, handles outreach, runs our website and social media, and keeps our projects organized. I focus on content creation and production.
We work with both local brands here in Los Angeles and clients from across the U.S., offering a full range of visual content services to support their marketing needs. Our work includes:
Photography – From essential e-commerce shots on clean backgrounds to lifestyle scenes, styled still-life photography, on-model and even AI-generated model content.
Engaging Video – 360-degree product videos, stop-motion, creative product ads, and social media reels to help brands tell their stories visually.
Infographics & Custom Visuals – We create clean, eye-catching graphics that highlight product features while staying on-brand with your logo, colors, and message.
We specialize in jewelry, accessories, skincare, and small product photography, but we’re always open to new creative challenges.
What sets us apart?
A Personal, Flexible Approach – We offer flexible services and pricing because we genuinely care about building long-term partnerships. We want to grow with our clients, not just deliver one-off projects.
We Work Like Part of Your Team – Whether you use Slack, Monday.com, or another platform, we can stay fully connected to your creative or marketing teams to keep everything smooth and efficient.
Fast, Reliable Delivery – With a solid workflow and a dedicated team, we deliver high-quality content on time so you can hit your marketing goals without stress.
We’re most proud of the trust our clients place in us. Many come back again and again, and some have been with us since the very beginning. That loyalty means everything.
At the heart of our brand is this: we genuinely care about your success. Whether you’re launching your first collection or scaling your business, we’re here to help your products look their absolute best.
How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happiest is when our clients come back, refer us to others, and we get to see their businesses grow. It’s such a great feeling to know that the content we create helps them reach their goals, it means we’re doing something right.
I also love when clients come to us with creative ideas. It pushes us to think outside the box and grow as creators too. Every new challenge is an opportunity to learn, improve, and make something we’re proud of. That kind of collaboration is what keeps this work exciting and meaningful for me.
