Hi Angel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born in Guatemala and came at the age of 6. Started cutting hair as a teenager and eventually worked enough to open up my own barbershop. Always wanting to create a social club like atmosphere I then decided to add a coffee shop inside the barbershop.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Becoming a father at a young age required me to work multiple jobs while still going to barber school to obtain my license. Working 7 days a week added a lot of stress and led to a life of a working alcoholic. Decided to get sober in 2015 and a year later I was able to open my business.

I am a barber and also a barista. Specialize is traditional men’s haircuts and Guatemalan single origin coffee.At The Hide Room Barbershop & Coffee Co we offer an experience that blends looking good while also enjoying a great cup of Guatemalan coffee. Social club atmosphere is what keeps patrons coming back. Proud of keeping the brand small and enjoying being able to do both at the same time.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Super outgoing and talkative. Always had an entrepreneurial spirit. Selling shoes, clothes , burned cds and snacks at swap meets pretty much was were it all started.
