Inspiring Conversations with Pua Hall of Soulstice

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pua Hall.

Hi Pua, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story begins as the daughter of an immigrant and teen single mom, raised in the midst of both chaos and deep-rooted strength. I was born in the Bay Area and moved to Hawaiʻi as a young child, where my gymnastics journey began. From the outside, I was a high-performing athlete — training 50+ hours a week and competing nationally — but on the inside, I was navigating childhood trauma, instability, and the pressure to succeed.

At 17, everything shifted. I found out I had a broken back, and that diagnosis became the catalyst for my spiritual awakening. I dove deep into meditation, visualization, and the mind-body connection. It became clear to me that healing wasn’t just physical — it was mental, emotional, and spiritual as well. I used those practices not just to cope, but to compete. I went on to earn a full-ride scholarship to UCLA, became an All-American and National Champion, and finished my college gymnastics career with a broken back — all through the power of the mind, my support system at UCLA, and unwavering inner strength.

After college, I worked in real estate, but when the pandemic hit, I felt a deep spiritual pull to return to my roots and my healing path. I took a pause from everything and fully immersed myself in meditation, energy work, and eventually sound healing. What started as a personal practice turned into my purpose — and led to the birth of Soulstice, my sound healing and wellness brand.

Today, I guide sound baths across Los Angeles and beyond — from intimate circles to large-scale events and corporate wellness activations — and recently launched my own line of crystal sound bowls. I’m now building my first online courses and creating a full sound healer certification program to help others discover their own healing gifts.

This is still just the beginning, but it’s all an extension of what’s helped me come home to myself — and I feel honored to share these tools with others walking their own path.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not a smooth road — but a sacred one. I’ve faced so many moments of uncertainty, burnout, and breakdown, especially in the transitions between identities. Moving from elite athlete to “real world” adult was jarring. After college, I felt like I was repeating the same patterns of survival & suffering (overworking, overthinking, overdoing) but in new environments. I knew how to perform, how to push through, how to survive — but I didn’t yet know how to rest, receive, or feel safe in my body.

When the pandemic hit, it cracked open everything I had been pushing down. I was navigating a grief, trauma, financial instability, and deep spiritual awakening — all at once. I had to unlearn so much. I had to sit with emotions I’d avoided for years. And starting a business in the healing space came with its own set of challenges: self-doubt, imposter syndrome, fear of being seen, and building something sustainable while staying in alignment with my purpose.

There were seasons when I felt like giving up — but each time, I came back to my why. I’m here to be the version of me that younger me needed. To show others what’s possible when you choose healing. To create spaces of safety, remembrance, and empowerment — especially for those who are over-achievers, perfectionist, or people pleasers and are ready to come home to themselves.

As you know, we’re big fans of Soulstice. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Soulstice is more than a business — it’s a movement rooted in healing, empowerment, and community.

At Soulstice, we offer sound baths, guided meditations, community events, and transformational learning experiences to help people reconnect with themselves, regulate their nervous systems, and find clarity through sound and holistic wellness. What began as a personal practice has evolved into a growing wellness brand that serves individuals, communities, and global organizations. I’ve guided sound baths for teams at Amazon, UCLA Athletics, Compass, Lyft, and beyond — as well as created intimate healing spaces for high performers, creatives, and anyone longing to return to themselves.

We recently launched Soulstice Sound Bowls, a curated line of high quality crystal quartz singing bowls crafted for travel, personal use, and professional healing spaces. We’re also preparing to debut our first signature online course, designed to support purpose-led individuals who feel called to explore sound, energy, and soul-aligned living. This will later expand into a full sound healer certification program, helping others cultivate their own gifts.

What sets us apart is the fusion of grounded healing with high-level performance — blending my background as a former NCAA champion gymnast with my spiritual and holistic experience. I understand the pressure to do it all, to push through, to hold it together — and I’ve built Soulstice to be a soft place to land for those ready to shift from surviving to thriving.

I’m most proud that everything we offer is an extension of my lived experience. Nothing is forced or for show — it’s all embodied, heart-led, and rooted in real transformation. Soulstice exists to remind others that healing can be powerful, grounding, and even joyful. That softness is strength. That it’s safe to rest. And that a purpose-led life doesn’t have to come at the cost of your peace.

Whether someone joins a sound bath, purchases their first Soulstice singing bowl, or steps into one of our courses, I want them to walk away feeling more connected to who they are — and who they’re here to become.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest advice is to start before you’re ready. You don’t need the perfect branding, the full plan, or all the answers to begin. You just need to trust the whisper that’s calling you forward — and take one aligned step at a time.

When I first started, I spent so much time doubting myself. I waited for permission, I overthought everything, and I worried about what others would think. But the truth is — clarity comes through action. Confidence builds through consistency. And the right people and spaces will find you when you’re rooted in authenticity.

I also wish I knew how important nervous system regulation would be. Starting a purpose-led business will bring up all your stuff — fears, scarcity, perfectionism, imposter syndrome. It’s not just about strategy — it’s about capacity. Take care of your body. Build support systems. Prioritize rest. And remember that building something meaningful isn’t a race — it’s a sacred becoming.

Lastly, don’t be afraid to take up space. Share your gifts. Tell your story. You never know who needs to hear it. And you never know what gets to open up when you start playing big.
