Meet Du Chen of Amaxy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Du Chen.

Du, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Have you ever get so annoyed by having a bad hair day? If you are a woman, you must know what I’m talking about… All kinds of frizzy hair, tangled hair, plus all those stress about split ends, hair loss… A lot of people tried so many hair products, all types of conditioners, hair treatment, but they never seem worked. Have you thought about why?
Have you ever thought about the roots of all these hair problems? It is your scalp.

So here, I am presenting you the solution to all of these hair struggles, so you can leave your house every day with perfect hair! Here is our patented infrared ceramic hair dryer, the twin deep-penetrating infrared light infuses gentle heat into your hair cuticles, making it stronger and practically unbreakable while preventing tangling and split-ends. It is the same infrared lights as the healing lights you see at your acupuncture session, but instead, we give a therapy session to your scalps.

The gentle, thermal therapy lights stimulate the scalp and improves blood circulation, and you will be growing glossier and healthier hair, and it also preventing hair loss at an early stage. The technology behind the honeycomb-shaped heating element right here (pointing at the front part of the dryer), is a silver-coated ceramic component, which conducts and concentrates heat evenly, and focuses heat onto a specific area without compromising energy in the process. This technology saves 40% energy while cutting down your drying time by half, compared to conventional dryers.

Where did the idea come from?
We realized a lot of people in their early 30s, or even 20s, having issues related to a great amount of hair loss. Also, they were bothered by their damaged and tangled hair, and this type of issue influences their daily life. We had family members and friends who were bothered by their hair loss and damaged hair, and they think it brought a negative impact on their self-confidence.

One day, an acupuncture session with far-infrared healing light inspired us in using it in our hair-dryers. What came to mind was, “Why don’t we use this type of healing light on our scalp?” (Healing practices in East Asia and Europe have been using Far-infrared light for healing purposes for a very long time.) That’s when we decided to install a Far-infrared light inside of our hair dryers to heal the scalp.

We combined the far infrared light with the honeycomb heating element, to create this Infrared Ceramic Hair Dryer, which ultimately helps us solve problems such as hair loss, unhealthy hair and split ends.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We’ve spent countless hours in designing and creating the sleek design of our hairdryer. Inventing the honeycomb-shaped ceramic components, and far-infrared lights covered by carbon fiber, was a great feat, but installing both components within this tiny hair dryer body was the most challenging part of the whole process.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Amaxy story. Tell us more about the business.
My name is Du Chen, I’m from Los Angeles, California, and I am the founder and CEO of an LA-based company called Amaxy Beauty. Little interesting things about myself, I was the Miss Asia California and Miss China USA back in while I was in college. By being in the pageant and modeling industry for many years, I was always inspired by women that can do great things, and I am always very into the beauty industry.

I’ve seen so many beauty companies that focus more on advertising, but not on the quality of their products, and I know the needs and the markets for great beauty products that actually works. So I created my own company Amaxy Beauty, we are a special company that owned by women, and run by women that are extremely passionate about beauty industry.
