Check Out Saint Simmons’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Saint Simmons.

Hi Saint, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I came out to LA in 2014 chasing a dream—to make music that mattered. But after years of failed attempts and closed doors, I shelved that dream, telling myself maybe I just wasn’t good enough.

Everything changed last year at a party. Two close friends pulled me aside, asked why I hadn’t texted back, and pressed me about my music. That moment became the spark I didn’t know I needed. Soon after, we were in the studio, and I recorded my first single under a new name: Saint Simmons.

But right as we finished the final verse, life took a heartbreaking turn. My wife, who was pregnant with our first child, was rushed to the hospital. A few days later, our son was born early and didn’t make it. That moment shattered me.

Still, I told my team: Please don’t sideline me.
We kept creating—channeling the grief, the ache, the love—into something honest. I began to write through the pain, and out of that came my new EP: Good Grief.

It’s more than music—it’s my heart on record.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As I mentioned before, LA wasn’t kind to me in the beginning. I faced my share of setbacks—some that nearly made me pack it all up. At one point, I didn’t have a place to stay. I had to quit a job because my employer stopped paying me. I went through a painful breakup with someone I’d been with for six years.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in creating and writing music, but interestingly enough, I’m actually more known for my work as a youth director. Both roles—artist and mentor—are deeply connected for me. They’re about using story, presence, and creativity to impact lives.

What I’m most proud of is my son. After losing our first child, being able to welcome another has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. He’s a daily reminder of redemption and grace.

What sets me apart is my vulnerability. I don’t shy away from the hard parts of my story—in fact, I try to lead with them. Whether it’s in music, ministry, or life, I believe there’s power in being honest about pain. That’s where real connection happens.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
If you’re into alternative, faith-based rap that’s honest and rooted in real life, give me a follow and help support the movement.

As an indie artist, every stream, follow, and subscription truly makes a difference. It’s bigger than music—it’s ministry through melody.
