Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaymes White.
Hi Jaymes, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I originally started as a mindreader which I still do but the seance became so popular that I had to focus on that. Ten years ago I started doing seances and they unexpectedly blew up. It was not something that was planned or anticipated. We started with a small location and now the Jaymes White Seance is the biggest Seance in North America. We started with 12 people coming to each seance and over the years we have accumulated 26 000 people. Every single seance has been sold out because of the popularity. I have done over 1600 seances.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When I started there were a few others that I worked with who tried to steal my custom Jaymes White Seance idea. Luckily the seance is so unique that it can’t be duplicated.
There is sometimes a lot of politics in finding locations for the seance as the seance runs every day for 8 weeks. A lot of times the city leaves these haunted places empty and do not want to rent it out. Finding locations that are haunted enough can be a challenge.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a professional mindreader. I train detectives, law enforcement and people in sensitive areas on observation, memory and lie detection. I teach seminars for phd students at different universities. I also run the biggest seance in North America that has been sold out for 9 years straight which is one of my greatest achievements. I have always done my own thing so everything I do is unique and innovative.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I wanted to move my seance to a new city where I did not know anyone. I put 80k on the line for marketing and location rental. It was a big risk at the time but it all sold out and paid off. You need to believe in yourself and the projects you work on or you will never get to the next level.
