Today we’d like to introduce you to Abigail Suazo
Hi Abigail, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My path has been a winding journey filled with diverse experiences, a tapestry woven with both challenges and successes. Becoming a Trauma-Informed Hypnotherapist was never something I envisioned for myself, but in 2020, I had a hypnotherapy session that changed my life. It allowed me to witness the traumatic events I had navigated and peel back the layers of my wounds. In that moment, everything clicked, and I felt deeply inspired. Since then, I have earned certifications, worked with people from all walks of life, and had the privilege of witnessing profound healing and breakthroughs. I feel truly blessed to play even a small role in these transformative journeys.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but I believe every challenge has shaped me into the person and practitioner I am today. Like many who walk the path of healing, my journey began with my own wounds. Confronting past traumas and learning to navigate them with grace wasn’t easy, but it was absolutely necessary. There were moments of deep self-doubt, times when I questioned whether I was capable of holding space for others while still growing myself.
Building a career in a field that isn’t always understood by the mainstream came with its own set of obstacles; educating people on the power of hypnotherapy, gaining trust, and continuously refining my skills. And of course, entrepreneurship has its ups and downs, from balancing client work to creating a sustainable practice.
But through it all, I’ve learned that the struggles were never roadblocks, just stepping stones. They deepened my compassion, strengthened my purpose, and reinforced my belief that healing is not only possible but inevitable when we’re willing to do the work.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My practice, Energy Light Healing, is more than just a business… it is, in its own way, a sanctuary for transformation and deep healing. Through my work, I offer Trauma-Informed Hypnotherapy, what I like to call Soul Guidance, mentorship and coaching, all designed to support individuals on their journey to reclaiming themselves.
I’ve had the honor of working with people navigating profound trauma, including working in non-profit spaces where I have been able to assist those with PTSD, women who have experienced sexual assault and various forms of abuse, and individuals transitioning out of homelessness. I also have assisted employees at large companies like Google, Wella Hair, United Way, where they have been able to learn tools to ground, regulate their nervous systems and have more clarity and balance with their work and their life.
Each person carries a unique story, and my role is to create a safe, compassionate space where they can process, heal, and step into their power. Regardless of societal class, gender, or anything they’ve experienced in their past or present.
My approach is deeply intuitive and integrative, blending subconscious work with spiritual guidance to help my clients not only release past wounds but also reconnect with their inner wisdom. The transformations I’ve witnessed remind me daily why I do this work. It’s about more than healing pain; it’s about guiding people back to themselves, their light, and their limitless potential.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I have been a big fan of the work of Richard Rudd and the Gene Keys. His perspectives on existence have assisted me in getting out of my own way. I’m also big on books by Daniel Coleman, Stephen Covey, Dr. Mariel Buque, Brianna Weist and Brene Brown. I think we can be inspired by anyone and anything if we allow ourselves to open our minds, even just a little bit.
