Today we’d like to introduce you to Ahmed AbdelGhany.
Hi Ahmed, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey began with a deep passion for handcrafted textiles and the timeless beauty of traditional kilim weaving. I’ve always been drawn to pieces that tell a story—rich in culture, artistry, and soul. What started as a personal admiration quickly grew into a calling: to share these unique designs with the world through high-quality, beautifully crafted kilim and throw pillows.
This brand is more than a business—it’s a labor of love. Every piece is created with care, blending heritage techniques with modern aesthetics. I work closely with artisans, produce in small batches, and use eco-conscious materials because I believe in beauty with purpose. Sustainability, craftsmanship, and storytelling are at the heart of everything I do.
Through my work, I hope to inspire people to embrace slow living, choose mindfully, and fill their homes with meaningful pieces.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all—but every challenge has shaped the journey. Starting a brand rooted in craftsmanship and sustainability meant going against the tide of fast, mass-produced home décor. Sourcing quality, eco-friendly materials, building relationships with skilled artisans, and ensuring each piece meets high standards took time, patience, and trust.
There were moments of doubt—especially in the early stages—when managing production delays, balancing costs, and learning the ins and outs of running an online business felt overwhelming. Marketing a niche product to a wider audience also came with its learning curve.
But passion kept me going. Every obstacle reminded me why I started: to offer something authentic and meaningful. And with every piece that finds a home, it feels worth it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I create and curate high-quality kiliim rugs and throw pillows that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern design. Each piece is carefully handmade by artisans, using time-honored techniques and eco-conscious materials. My work focuses on preserving cultural heritage while making it relevant and accessible for today’s interiors.
What sets my brand apart is the attention to detail, the soul behind every product, and the commitment to sustainability. These aren’t just decorative items—they’re conversation pieces with a story. I don’t mass-produce. Every design is limited, which means that when you buy something from my collection, you’re getting something truly unique.
I’m most proud of building a brand that celebrates art, culture, and conscious living. Whether it’s the rich textures, the earthy tones, or the thoughtful patterns, my goal is to help people create spaces that feel warm, personal, and intentional.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always a curious, creative soul. I loved colors, textures, and anything that involved crafting or hands-on work. I would spend hours rearranging my room, flipping through design magazines, or sketching patterns—long before I even realized design could become a career path.
I’ve always been deeply observant and drawn to details. I appreciated beauty in small things, and I had a strong sense of connection to tradition and storytelling. I was also a bit of a dreamer, always imagining different worlds and possibilities—which I now realize plays a big role in how I design and curate my collection.
Looking back, I think my love for art, culture, and meaningful expression was always there. I just found a way to channel it into something tangible and shareable.
