Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackie + Andrew Zhang + Moradian.
Hi Jackie + Andrew, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It all started with a shared love for food. We would always try new restaurants every week, take pictures of our food, and post them on our personal social media accounts. A lot of our friends would swipe on our stories asking about the restaurants, and that’s when we realized— why not start our own page? That’s how @jandrew.eats was born. At first, documenting our date nights and spontaneous food crawls was just for fun. But over time, it became more intentional. We started learning about camera angles, lighting, editing, and how to really showcase food in a way that feels immersive. We wanted to build a page that feels like you’re eating alongside us, whether it’s street food in OC, a cozy cafe in LA, or a splurge-worthy fine-dining experience. We’ve been lucky to connect with a growing community of food lovers, small businesses, and brands who share our passion. It’s been a journey of growth, creativity, and lots of good eats and we’re so excited to keep evolving along the way.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but that’s what makes it rewarding. One of the biggest challenges has been balancing content creation with our full-time commitments. Between work, school, and life, it’s easy to burn out or fall behind. There were times we felt pressure to constantly post or keep up with trends, which can take the fun out of things. We’ve also had to learn how to navigate the algorithm, stay creative, and grow authentically on top of our other full-time responsibilities. When being in the food space, we’re always investing in meals, equipment, or editing tools, which adds up quickly especially when you’re starting from scratch. But through all of it, we’ve learned to be more intentional with our content, prioritize quality over quantity, and remind ourselves why we started in the first place. At the end of the day, the challenges have pushed us to grow— not just as creators, but as storytellers, collaborators, and even as a couple. So while it hasn’t always been easy, it’s been 100% worth it.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
@jandrew.eats is more than just a food content page— it’s a visual diary of the new experiences we embark upon as a couple. We specialize in creating content that highlights local restaurants, trending spots, and hidden gems across Southern California. We’re all about capturing the full vibe of each place we visit, from the plating to the ambiance to that first bite. One thing that really sets us apart is the creative doodles we add to all of our photos. It’s become such a fun way to bring a little more personality, playfulness, and artistry into our content. It gives our posts a unique style that feels both curated and persona, kind of like a food diary with flair. We’re most proud of how we’ve built this brand organically, just by showing up as ourselves and combining both our passions: food and creativity. We’ve partnered with small businesses, bigger brands, and everything in between, but we’re especially passionate about uplifting local spots and helping our audience find their new go-to places. For readers who are just discovering us: think of our page as your foodie bestie who gives you the best food and experience recommendations from all over Southern California. Whether you’re looking for restaurant recommendations or just authentic content— we got you.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
We’ve definitely taken some risks along the way; starting @jandrew.eats was one of them. Putting ourselves out there, sharing our content publicly, and stepping into the world of social media as creators felt vulnerable at first. You start to wonder what people will think, especially coworkers/mutuals that may not be supportive like a close friend. But we realized that staying comfortable would only hold us back from something that could grow into something really special. We’ve also taken financial risks which include investing in gear, editing tools, and constantly trying new spots to keep our content fresh. It adds up, especially when you’re not guaranteed a return right away. But we’ve always looked at risk as part of the creative process. Growth doesn’t happen without putting something on the line. We don’t necessarily see ourselves as huge risk-takers, but we do believe in betting on ourselves— even when the outcome is uncertain. Every time we hit “post,” pitch a brand, or try something new with our style, it’s a small risk. But those small risks have helped us stand out, stay inspired, and stay true to our vision.
