Life & Work with Julian DeVincentis of West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julian DeVincentis.

Hi Julian, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in CT. Attended UConn where I majored in finance. After working in finance for 7 years, and a brief stint in hospitality in NYC, I decided it was time to try something new (also was fired from 3 jobs in 3 months)

After people sometimes confusing me for actors, asking if I was an actor, and even being approached by a big time agent, I decided to try acting in August 2024. I got my headshots done from a friend on August 20th. On August 24th I was on my first set acting out a scene for a Lil Tecca album release trailer promo in front of 30 crew / onlookers , one seasoned actress, and lil Tecca. I loved it from the moment I was on set.

I was always a film buff so it’s no surprise I enjoyed it. 7 months later I’ve been apart of over 30 productions. While many were unpaid, student films, or shorts, I enjoyed every single one of them and am grateful for being a part of them. I’ve made many friends and pieces of art im proud of.

I was in my first feature film we shot in January in Philadelphia where I played Ted Bundy in “Madonna Non Grata”

My goals are to keep grinding and see where this career can take me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have dealt with a lot of rejection. I was sent home from a Spielberg set in person where I was brought in to be a stand in with one other guy. They picked the other guy right in front of me.

I am obviously not making much money yet but luckily I saved some up from my career in finance.

Some days I feel like a star some days I get really depressed. But I love chasing the highs.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’ve held a variety of jobs from golf caddy for 12 years, working for my fathers construction company, 4 different bartending jobs in Manhattan, I worked for Blackstone as a MBS trader and two different hedge funds, and now acting.

I hope to make a career in show business and am looking to produce a script I wrote in college this summer.

I believe my work ethic sets me apart. I’m not afraid to try anything.

I’m most proud of having the guts to leave the comfortable life of finance and try something new and exciting.

What’s next?
My film I want to produce this summer.
