Today we’d like to introduce you to Rylee Madison.
Rylee, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My passion for hair began in childhood, watching my grandma work her magic behind the chair. Her talent and dedication inspired me throughout my life. After graduating high school in the Valley, I attended West Valley Occupational, where I earned my cosmetology license in 2014. For the past 11 years, I’ve been bringing my love for hair to life behind the chair. When I’m not behind the chair doing hair, I also educate for a company called Davines who specializes in sustainable hair care. I absolutely love being able to educate other hair stylists and teach them everything I know.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Doing hair is my greatest passion, but the journey hasn’t always been easy. It took years of hard work and dedication to build the dream clientele I have today. As a true people pleaser, learning and making mistakes in the beginning was challenging. But every mistake became a lesson, shaping me into the stylist I am today. Luckily I assisted under an amazing hair stylist who pretty much taught me everything I know.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Behind the chair, I specialize in color transformations, highlights, and extensions. What truly sets me apart is my ability to communicate and connect with my clients—I understand the importance of listening and delivering exactly what they envision. Beyond that, I’m constantly taking new classes and refining my skills to ensure the best possible results for every client who sits in my chair.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about the city of Los Angeles is how diverse we are, so many different walks of life, cultures community so on and so forth. The thing I like the least is lack of transportation
