Inspiring Conversations with Alison Lopez of Serenity Oasis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alison Lopez

Hi Alison, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey into the healing arts has been deeply personal and transformative. It began during a time in my life when I was searching for peace and clarity amidst chaos. Like many people, I found myself stuck in a cycle of stress, burnout, and a sense of disconnect—from myself, others, and the world around me. I was working hard but feeling unfulfilled, as if something essential was missing.

I was introduced to Reiki during a particularly challenging period and immediately felt a sense of relief, like a weight had been lifted. That first session planted the seed for what would become a lifelong path of healing and helping others. I dove deeper into learning not just Reiki but also sound healing, yoga, and other modalities. Over time, I realized that the common thread in all these practices is their ability to guide us back to ourselves and our inner peace.

Launching Serenity Oasis was born out of this journey. I wanted to create a space where people could feel safe, supported, and empowered to explore their own healing. Through Reiki, sound baths, and community circles, I’m able to share tools and practices that helped me heal with others who are searching for the same.

Today, I work closely with individuals in recovery and rehab settings, as well as anyone looking to find balance and harmony in their lives. I believe healing isn’t just about fixing what’s broken—it’s about embracing who we are, learning to care for ourselves, and living in alignment with our true essence.

This path has not only shaped my career but also my entire outlook on life. Helping others transform their pain into peace is the most rewarding work I could imagine. It’s humbling to see how each person’s healing journey ripples outward into their families, communities, and beyond. I’m grateful every day to be part of that process.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road—it’s been full of challenges, but each one has shaped me into who I am today. Like many who step into the world of healing, I came from a place of pain and struggle. My own healing journey revealed so much about the layers of trauma, self-doubt, and fear I had been carrying for years. Working through that wasn’t easy, and at times, it felt overwhelming.

One of the biggest struggles was learning how to trust myself. When I first started exploring Reiki and sound healing, I worried about whether I was “qualified” enough or if I could really help others. Imposter syndrome crept in often, and I had to constantly remind myself that healing is not about perfection—it’s about authenticity, connection, and being present.

Another challenge was building Serenity Oasis while balancing personal and professional growth. Starting a business rooted in healing requires more than just logistics; it requires deep emotional investment. It took time to create a space that truly reflects my vision—a place where people can feel seen, heard, and supported. There were moments of doubt, financial uncertainty, and the constant need to educate others about what I do and how it can help them.

Working with individuals in recovery has also come with its own challenges. Seeing the depth of pain some people carry is both humbling and heartbreaking. It pushes me to continually show up for myself and others, even on days when the work feels heavy.

Despite these struggles, I wouldn’t change a thing. Every obstacle taught me resilience and compassion, both for myself and for others. These lessons have allowed me to create a business and a practice that feels grounded and authentic. The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been meaningful, and I’m grateful for every step of the journey.

As you know, we’re big fans of Serenity Oasis. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Serenity Oasis is more than just a business; it’s a sanctuary for healing and transformation. At its heart, Serenity Oasis is a space where people can reconnect with themselves, find inner peace, and embrace their journey toward wholeness. I specialize in Reiki, sound healing, and guided self-love practices, often tailored for individuals in recovery or those navigating the challenges of life transitions.

What sets Serenity Oasis apart is the deeply personal and nurturing approach I bring to each session and event. I understand that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. Whether someone is attending a community circle, a private Reiki session, or a sound bath ceremony, I create a safe, sacred space for them to feel seen, heard, and held. My work often integrates ancient traditions with modern techniques, blending modalities to meet each person where they are.

I’m proud to work with people in recovery, offering a holistic perspective that complements traditional therapeutic approaches. Serenity Oasis has become a haven for individuals seeking a deeper connection to themselves and their healing journey—whether it’s through clearing emotional blocks with Reiki, experiencing the soothing vibrations of a sound bath, or simply finding stillness in our community gatherings.

What truly sets Serenity Oasis apart is the focus on community and intention. Our monthly self-love circles, for example, are designed not just to offer healing but to foster connection and belonging. These circles are intimate, transformative experiences that include ceremonies like journaling, sound baths, and burning rituals. The goal is to remind participants that they are never alone on their journey.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the authenticity and love that Serenity Oasis radiates. Everything I offer, from one-on-one sessions to group events, is infused with intention and care. I want readers to know that Serenity Oasis isn’t just about healing; it’s about empowerment. It’s a place where you can not only heal but also grow, reconnect with your inner self, and take the tools you learn into every part of your life.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, Serenity Oasis offers a path back to yourself. Through personalized care and a supportive community, I’m here to help you find your inner calm and step into the life you deserve.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is the power of surrender and trust. For a long time, I believed I had to control every aspect of my life to feel safe and successful. But healing—both my own and the healing work I now offer to others—taught me that true growth comes from letting go of that control and allowing life to flow.

Surrender doesn’t mean giving up; it means trusting that even the most challenging moments are part of a bigger plan. When I’ve leaned into that trust, the right opportunities, people, and lessons have always found their way to me. This is a lesson I often share with my clients: that sometimes the most profound transformation happens when we release the need to have everything figured out and instead open ourselves to the possibilities.

I’ve also learned the importance of showing up as my authentic self. The more I embrace who I am—flaws, strengths, and everything in between—the more I connect with others on a deeper level. It’s through that authenticity that I’ve been able to create a business and community that truly feels aligned with my purpose.

Finally, I’ve realized that healing is not linear. It’s a journey of ups and downs, and that’s okay. Each step, even the hard ones, teaches us something valuable. This understanding has allowed me to hold space for others with compassion and patience, knowing that their path is uniquely theirs and perfectly imperfect.
