Hidden Gems: Meet Jennifer Edmonds of Element Pilates & Yoga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Edmonds

Hi Jennifer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started teaching Pilates in 2009, and always taught in-person within studios. It wasn’t until 2020 and covid that I ever considered having an online business.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not always! I assumed that because I had been teaching for so long & had no problem filling up classes in person, that this would translate easily to online work. But it was such a different challenge. I had to be a lot more strategic about finding students & nurturing that relationship with them.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a Yoga & Pilates teacher and I specialse in helping women through infertility and pregnancy loss.

It’s a very delicate niche and I think the fact that I have personal experience in this area makes all the difference.

What sets my business apart from others is the personal touch included with all my programs and courses. I guide students through every part of the fertility/pregnancy/motherhood journey and can relate to so much of it from personal experience too.

I am most proud of the impact we have had on women’s lives – helping them to feel empowered and supported as they navigate a difficult time in their life.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I think that fertility & pregnancy loss is starting to be spoken about a lot more. Like so many “women’s health” issues (and I put this in inverted commas because let’s not forget that infertility is as much of a men’s health issue too) this topic is one that’s been taboo to speak about for so long. The current statistics show that 1 in 6 couples now have difficulty conceiving so I feel this industry will continue to grow in the next 5-10 years.
